NC4X4 withdrawal help!!!

Seen him at a comedy club in Fayetteville about 15 years ago FWIR.
Jay died in the 93 or 94..i was in high school at the time. They had a last show for him weeks before he died in myrtle beach. Me and my BIl and FIL...though of course I wasn't married then,....drove to MB to see the show but couldn't get in because we were under age. So FIL went and me and BIL went to the arcade and played video games while he went to the show. He got hammered and I had to drive home.

93. Liver cancer....he went on tour when he found out. Moved his last show up a week because he knew he was close. Died 2 days later

I'm bound to post something really convoluted in my build thread with random camping pictures attached and maybe a few Jeep things.

I was gonna add you but wasn't sure how well received 'will take you on the hardest trip you've ever been on, without being on anything' would be.

Factual.

Well I remember the boat ride bit from some dude at Itz comedy club. There was a bunch of drinking going on so who knows what I seen or heard.

Holyshit that was funny
Be sure to listen to part 2 as well.

His jokes were the basis of MANY a comedy sketch and a couple of movies pretty much took his jokes and ran with it as a plot

Yep!

He and Foxworthy were touring mates when both were trying to "make it"....Hickman was the "star" first...I heard an interview once where Jeff Foxworthy said "Im just a dork that people laugh at Jay Hickman remains the funniest dude Ive ever met"

BTW @CasterTroy the "Why cant you be happy bit" would definitely get labeled as racist these days....even though Id argue it wasnt.

I grew up in a VERY similar setting as him. Black neighborhood, black schools, thought "Honky" was an endearing term (hell George Jefferson used it on Lenny Kravitz dad?!?!)

now everyone is so damn sensitive about everything, you can't HAVE "comedy" any more. Which USE to be simple observations of differences with a funny ironical spin.

What you have NOW are shows like SNL and The Daily Show, which are no more than indoctrination by comedic imposition, where people aren't laughing at it as much as cheering for the rhetoric. It no longer resembles "comedy" but more of a Liberal Clan meeting.

Well, made it back from the cruise.

It wasnt the best vacation of my life, but wasnt as bad as I had feared.

I forgot to mention we went to Nassau (5th time i have been there). Hit up cable beech this time, by far the nicest beech on the island.

We were supposed to go to Princess Cay also, but it was damaged by a fire a few days before we got there.... Which sucks!!

Ended up going to Freeport (3rd time I have been there). Not much good to say about it, but paradise cove is a decent place to visit.

All in all an ok time. If anyone is thinking about going on a cruise and has any questions, let me know. This was my 7th one I think.

And good God, just like every cruise, so many gigantic people.....

I've been on my first, and last....ironically the same one

Things I learned about myself on said cruise

I hate people
I hate buffets
I hate lines to exit the ship
I hate people
I hate lines for any activity
I hate frat boys
I hate people
I hate the 4 hrs it takes to exit the ship at the end
I hate TSA

I grew up skiing behind a Dixie open bow, fishing off a pontoon and railing wakes on sea-doos.
I've not left a damn thing on the water. No desire to EVER own a big ass hole in water you throw money into

Wait, you have to go through a TSA check point to get on a cruise!?!??!!!!!????? If that's the case, I'm glad the one we were supposed to go on in December last year was cancelled. I hate their procedures. BTW, last time I flew, my belt is metal free. I didn't take it off.. my jeans would have fell off, I'm slender built.

I agree with that but if I’m on a boat I wanna be the one deciding on where we are pointing and how fast we are going. Kinda the same in a vehicle as I have to be in control I’ve been told anyway. Happiest 2 days of my life, the day I bought my boat and the day I sold that SOB.
