Guys I am posting this for help. UROTC needs our help to be able to stay open and give us another place to camp, learn proper offroading, and tread lightly. It has been include with the issues next door in the past and Scotts place is nothing like the place next door.

What he needs is testimony about what he has done for you, your club and what he gives back through teaching. IE free camping for workday volunteers, veterans rides, club jambos etc etc.

PLEASE help give Scott some ammo. I would like to see 30-40 well written letters for him to be able to carry with him to the county commissioner meeting as some ammo for him to show the differences. This is close to home guys and we need to help!!!

Scott please feel free to add what you need and tell other about you and your place.

Who is trying to close UORTC down?
Is this simply a way for him to gain testimony and perhaps drum up business or what?

Ultimate stupid question here ,but some of us don't know what UORTC is......

The county commissioner is asking for a business plan. Seems some have complained. They wanting to play with zoning to make it harder to do events. No smoke and mirrors, you have used Scotts place so you know who you are dealing with on this one.

Thanks, beat me to it. The place is directly across from the outpost, it has a barn....
Ahhhh, Other than sneaking a drive by of the Outpost when I was working down that way, I have been really removed from real wheeling and camping. The place looks cool, so I will add to the conversation by asking this...........What can those of us who have never been there, but would like to show support do ?

I will work on a letter on my end about the veterans ride this weekend and get it too you quick, Scott has done wonderfull things for the offraod comunity over the last few years, and a lot years ago that most dont even know about.

There have been some too complain about things that have gone on in the area close to the training center and in turn Scott is catching heat for it from the county comissioners.

Many of you have been to a offraod training class, Jamboree, or the veterans ride.

Any more insite would be great. Here is the letter Scott got to start this off. If anyone has dealt with this kind of thing or knows more on what to do, please post up....
As I said Snap, what can those of us who haven't been there as of yet and want to support a fellow wheeler do ?

I would edit that document for info that he might not want on an open forum. Like his info.

Scott is a great man and a great friend! I hate to hear this when all he tries to do is better the community and create a better place for us to enjoy

Sorry I missed that one. I really am not sure on this one, I am hoping someone may have an answer on here.....
Well I didn't know if we could maybe put some money together for him or something. I'd pitch in.

Hi, are there a few more particulars on the legal complaints or ordinances that are being violated? I have done a couple of the group rides he did and they were done the way they should be done. I want to do a write up but would like to tailor it so it will touch on those items. Thanks

Not sure money is the answer. I have seen the request(and will repost it after I block out some of the names and address). Reads more like they want his long term vision and impact on the local area. They will be scheduling a hearing date after they get his business plan. If it goes to the hearing stage I do think it would be a great idea to fill the place with support if we can....... I will keep every one up to date as this unfolds.

Here is the letter he was sent, I have edited out his address for obvious reasons.... I think the angle of you learn something every event is a good way to go, but rather have everyone be honest about what they have learned or experienced there....

nobody needs to go into panick mode over this.Scott's lucky it's zoned commercial and not residential or he would have a harder time than now. This is something that should be adressed anytime a business is started. It's really more up to Scott and his business partners to get with the county and the neighbors to sort this out. The county is gonna pay more attention to the concerns of the local tax paying neighbor than to us that frequent the area a few times a year and spend our money then. It's unfortunate and I hate it for him but what "I" read in the letter was get your info right, get right with the neighbors, and get in contact with the county and go through the steps.

From talking to Scott the business side is in the clear, what is in the cross hairs are the special events such as fall jambo, veterans ride etc etc
