Need help in OBX

Had the 3 link come apart today on the beach and lost the bolt that goes through the axle end on the drivers side. What is the technical term for that bolt and what diameter is it? Limped it back to the house with a screwdriver and vise grips. Have to find a shop down here asap to get it straight and drive home.

Any shops near Corolla that you guys know of?

Also busted a u joint cap at the front axle end of drive shaft. Got that put back together temporarily so that needs attention also.

Yep. Wasn't even beating on it. I guess the 500 miles down here then the vibration going up and down the beach made it come loose. Very lucky it didn't happen on the highway as it would have been BAD.

if you've got a 3/8 drive ratchet extension try to get that in the hole to get you to the. Point where you can fix it right

If it is still the stock lower control arm bracket it would be a 14mm, but a 9/16" is very close and will work. (most people run 9/16 and don't realize it)

I'm 9 miles up the 4x4 area and then another 5 miles or so to Ace. I'm going to hit them in the morning and then hope I can find a shop that can help out.

Closest shops I know of that could assist are in Manteo...a bit of a trek, unless you're willing to get towed.

I've got AAA premium thanks to a recommendation from @BUCKEYE PERFORMANCE INC. so I'm not scared but still have to get it to the pavement. I've got a temporary fix and we're back to the house 9 miles from the pavement.

There is a 4x4 shop in Harbinger , but I dont know much about them as they opened after I moved inland.

Like saud the bolt is just a 9/16 and could be sourced local. Soon as you get off sand take off the front drive shaft.If you seen a broke ass xj,tj, they are all the same

How long you staying, i bet someone would overnight one to you.

Pretty sure Fed Ex and UPS stop at the end of the pavement. The Ace hardware store is just a little South of him , and they have a good selection of fasteners.

I'm stopping at the Ace to get the bolt this morning. Then on to get the drive shaft fixed.

Couldn't find a component that could be robbed of its bolt without causing another issue. The link looks to be fine just packed the link end with sand. No pics as I was to pissed to think about getting a pic of the problem. It is at a shop in Kitty Hawk as I type this that can handle getting it back together. Drove from the house to their shop on a screwdriver and vise grips at about 30 mph.
