Need help... stuck in the mud near intersection of Uzzle/Moriah Roads, Rougemont

Sign up and get instant help!...........what a country:D
I actually had an ad on Craigslist and a guy responded and told me to come here. Y'all helped him about a year ago when he was stuck in a river.... Haven't had a vehicle that is any fun off-road in about 10 years. Henrietta just isn't built for fun, her job is to haul my horses around. So before the jokes start about using the horses to pull the truck out, I can't get the horses to the truck because I need the truck to pull the horses.... Back to that Catch 22.... :p

Welcome

I can't wait to see pics of this! On the other hand I wish I could help. However I know my cherokee is no match for a stuck powerstroke. Keep us updated and welcome to the forum.

Tractor(s) prob gonna be you best bet. I'd chain to the tow hooks and hook to the bucket, lift up and drag.

1984 outside Goldsboro N.C. a friend stuck his F150 in a farmers big, flat, wet field while taking a "shortcut" to a fishin hole. He asked the farmer if he could pull us out and he agreed for some cash. He had a big, foldup disc on it I suggested we remove, but we did'nt. W not much chain the tractor did a wheely before sinking deep into the mud. Second farmer stuck his tractor, Third tractor was needed and just barely got the 2 tractors out after 5 hrs of muddy misery and a few hundred$$..... They left the truck for a few days to let the field dry up some and I believe we were not welcome to fish there anymore.

Let the abuse begin! Thanks to Lee for the pic... As I mentioned, she's resting on the side steps.... We'll be out tomorrow at 10 AM to get her out before more weather rolls in. Will post more pics later.

i was picturing worse. doesnt look like the muds over the axles. some dry weather, a good tug and the wheels should pop right outta that. you were using words like "bog" i was thinking bottomless mud. you just found a soft spot. no biggie.

yeah thats not too bad. a buddy of mine got his stock z71 stuck in a river bank once. had to pull it up the bank about twice the length of the truck out of an axle sinker. did this with my small winch on the tj just had to anchor the jeep to another truck for resistance. you should come out of that no prob.

I went with the "soft, spongy ground" definition of bog... What makes it bad is the ground looks "normal" and then it's not. When they tried to get it out, they pulled from the back and the heavier front end dug in, so the front axle is, if not buried, caught on the ground. Without lifting up first, or going out forward, yanking from the back isn't gonna help. However, since I'm the one that got it stuck, and Lee is the one gonna get it out, I'll leave it to him to decide what's next. I was hoping for a helicopter.... but my connections with LeJeune and Bragg just aren't what they used to be....

Damn i wish the gf didn't wanna go shopping in Concord tomorrow, I'd drive out and supervise... Looks like fun, I've snatched out a duramax with my TJ. I'd give out a try if I could.

Fixed it for you....lol

Hey now, i didn't say it would be quality supervision, I'm just really good at telling people they are doing it all wrong.

It was just too easy lol...in all reality i went out this morning and looked at everything. I think with a double line winch pull it will come right out

I was thinking take a spare tire out and put it between the bumpers and start pushing. Maybe I need to take notes.

Maybe I missed it,

What were you doing when you got into this mess? What were you thinking?

Well, what I was doing was heading down to the pond, like I always do, to check the back of the property and pull the deer stands and video cam, etc. My adult daughter said, "Mommy, don't take your truck down there, you'll get stuck." To which I responded "Nah, it'll be fine...." I don't think I can count the number of times I have been reminded that I was told, specifically, by my one and only child, not to do something which I then did and have been suffering the consequences of ever since. Kinda like the, "no really, don't touch the stove, IT"S HOT" argument. I did, however, have plenty of help burying it up to the axles. I quit spinning the tires about 6 inches before the side steps touched the ground. In all seriousness, when I got out to lock the hubs ('cause the dang things refuse to lock automagically), I sunk about two inches myself. I'm a big girl, but not THAT big. I knew I was sunk after that... pun intended. I've gotten other vehicles out of messes, but none of those were long beds. Live and learn....

Now that's funny...

I'd just like to point out it appears this one was driven by a boy.... And I must say I'm feeling better already about my boggy conditions. That's MUD.
