Know your NC4x4'ers...

Following is alot of knowledged folk along with the most pre-mature bunch of kids I've ever met? What's up with these pre-mature kids now days???

It's been three days, so it's not an emergency. I would avoid the ER. Since you have insurance, get a list of doctors that use your coverage and establish your "family" doctor. He/She will either do it for you, or send you to the right specialist.

Yeah, I forgot about the whole thanksgiving thing. Yeah, skip the family doctor idea. Go ahead and call the optomitrist and get it taken care of.

go to the damn eye doctor.
don't mean to sound like an ass, but you are no smarter than your family and friends. just go to the doctor.
your eyes are nothing to mess with.

having been through this same senario at least a dozen times, it always results in a doctor visit.

THIS.

My dad always said there are two things you never wait on getting taken care of, your eyes and your feet. I may beat upo my body for stuff, but if I ever have problems with my eyes or my feet I get to the doc. If you can't see or walk then you are in a bad situation.

They make pills for most of the other stuff.

Opthalmologists. They are eye surgeons. Optometrist are just scrip writers. It has happened to me 3 times. It's most likely hot metal or grinder piece that has seared itself to the surface of the eye. It must be numbed, yes with a needle, and then scraped or pulled out. Since its been there so long, if it is metal, there will be a ring if rust that must be removed by "buffing" the surface. If the rust ring is not removed it can cause permanent damage. Get your ass to Dr!

I think you should stick you head in the freezer for 2 days with a magnet in your ass.

WTF? You should have been to the DR. already.

Opthalmologist..... Or better yet the gynecologist They say they are for Women but they may take ya anyway!!!lol Go to the DR. I have had the grinder to the eye ball 3 times now. They will numb it and do what they do. It sucks but will feel better within the hour.....

Get to the doctor. Trust me, your eye is nothing to play with. I had to have an eye removed last month and it is no fun. Remember what you were told when you were little "It's all fun and games untill someone looses an eye"

I don't think he has ed just something in his eye

I'm an expert at grinding without glasses, even have tried the magnet trick. As mentioned go to the eye doctor he will put in some numbing drops then remove foreign object. He will give you some antibiotic drops to take home and probably will have you wear a patch on said eye for 24 hrs. Cost without ins. around 150.00 to 200.00. What a dumbass:shaking:

^^^ This exactly.^^^ I talked him out of the pirate patch since I had to drive myself in.
For every dumbass there's a smart one out there.:fuck-you::rolleyes:

Having had many er trips in my time, I know an eye injury will prompt attention with no waiting!

If you don't get that fixed, you'll get a half off discount sunglasses.

Hope it works out for you.

process

They will use eye drops to numb it.

If metal splinter it may be easy for the doc to grab it and it will come out quickly, but it will rust. Rust needs to be "augered" out. Yes, like a drill. May take multiple trips (every 24 hours for "healing" in between" with eye patch in between. You will have a hole for a while....looks like a hole drilled in plexiglass. When you turn just right your vision will be distorted because you will be looking through said hole. It will go away after a few years.

Even with safety glasses it can happen....not fun but like others have said your eyes are nothing to mess with.

While I've never had to go in to the ER, I've had to wipe some crud off my eye ball a few times. In addition to wearing safety glasses most of the time, I also lean over and brush off my hair/hat/head as many times I've had shit fall out of my hair later on while doing something else...

Surprised your nosy neighbors didn't see you were in need of immediate medical attention and call it in for you :flipoff2:

NC Eye and Ear in Durham....NOW

May still be in the old McPherson Hospital building on West Main St across street from Hall Wynn Funeral home and just east of Duke campus. They may also have satellite branch on Roxboro Road near the Cookout.
