So you send him $ to hold a set of wheels that you didn't buy, and now expect 100% of your $ back? Why send it to him in the first place?

I was kind of thinking the same thing....isn't that like a non refundable deposit? Because otherwise he may could have sold them to someone else. On the other hand if he told you he would return it then he should keep his word. I would just make sure before I did that again. When my husband has something for sale and someone gives him $$ to hold it, that is not refundable because usually he has other people interested that would have purchased it... Live and learn I guess... Good luck maybe he will keep his word.

It was agreed that he would hold the $$$$ till I looked at them and yes I expect 100 percent back WTF would I expect anything else? What happened to the days of taking some ones word?

The reason I sent it was because I wanted first shot at them and it was a week or so before I could go to high point to look at them.

And no chris I haven't got anything yet key word YET!

If i HOLD something for $$$ then thats the deal...im holding it for that said amount so that you can get there to see the item. All comes down to what kinda of deal yall had worked up.

Ive held items with a nonrefundable deposit before, and with a refundable deposit also, always had paperwork to avoid the bullshit. Held a jeep for a guy, gave him 7 days to pay in full or he forfitted his deposit. Deposit was $150 bucks, He didn't pay, didn't even hear from him for over 2 weeks, when he called wanting his money back, Told him Id already sold the vehicle and reminded him he signed the written agreement and understood it. Guy called me angry for 3-4 days with excuses wanting his money back, once he realized he wasn't going to get it he stopped calling. People are stupid.

Its just whatever your deal was, should be upheld, seems the guy knows the deal, and is just not too terribly concerned with getting your money back, and that sucks.

When its all said and done if the deal was he would give him his money back if he didnt take the wheels then thats what needs to happen and to say my bad I spent it thats a big pile :poop:

I'd be pissed. $75 is $75, and if the agreement is as stated, I'd expect the $75 back and a case of beer or something to make ammends. I don't see any harm in putting down the refundable deposit, if the item was so wanted and so 'hot' before hand, a week isn't going to make a damn bit of difference, and people are still gonna want that item after the OP declined the transaction.

I like this better. Urban Dictionary to the rescue

moot point

"frequently takes place when
two cows can´t reach a consensus.
It usually but not always happens
when the subject is academic. "

yeah that is better

:uzi:do we need to take a road trip?:huggy:

I can see a refundable deposit. It shows the the prospect is serious, not that he guarantees he is going to buy them.

Just wish he would chime in and fess up to the wrong doing I have probably idk maybe 25 or 30 pm's stating I don't have the money or the money is sent or ill have it next week etc etc all of his friends I sent messages to clam that he is a stand up guy and wouldn't do this but I see reason to differ

cant you do something through paypal, like despute charges or request refund or something? Then they will look into it?
Yeah I thought that was part of the point of using paypal...

I believe that you only have 90 days with paypal, he gave him the money back in july.

I dont see why anyone has a problem with him wanting his deposit back when from what he says it was agreed to be a refundable deposit with the seller.

IMO the seller is as bad as thief. how could you forget you owe someone $75 for 4 months? Specially when you go buying things with the $75 you should have been holding separately from your own spending money. :shaking:

I am going to pm him with link to this thread MAYBE he'll give an answer to the OP then.
