Ok I have a 86 4runner that is throwing code 12 knock sensor so I checked the whole side of the block and there is no sensor and I can't find the plug but I did find a green plug that has the same shape not sure if it's the one I need so I thought I would turn to you guys and see if anyone knows what this plug is

That looks like the one, is it in this area? If so then that is the wire for the knock sensor

The knock sensor probably has a blade style for that year, the green one I think is the oil sending unit.

Isn't the 22RE knock sensor just to the left of the oil filter boss and slightly above if looking at the engine from that side?

Yea I know where it's suppose to go but it's not there on mine po I guess though it didn't need a knock sensor lol thanks for all the help think I found the wiring the plug is cut off and I am going to go get a used sensor since they are way over priced new I will report back on the outcome

Well I put a knock sensor in and no more check engine light and it has more power because the computer is not pulling timing thanks for all the help guys

Yea I got it 2 weeks ago the light was on when I got it been trying to find the damn wire they had cut the end off and zip tide it under the intake so I had to follow the wiring from the pin on the ecu to wear I found it
