Nasa has observed at least 2300 planets orbiting stars at a distance similar to Earth, in our own galaxy.
They believe some should also have atmospheres, water and temps. to support life.
There are many, many galaxies w many more stars........ billions or trillions of stars.
They are also sure that planets outnumber stars, our sun has eight.

We have neighbors.
 
With luck, no other planets have advanced civilizations, or any civilizations at all. Humans are the worst thing that have ever happened to our Earth. The toll humans have taken on the environment, animals, other humans....

My question would be how many people had to plan this and keep their mouth shut? Or did one guy just walk around buildings and set up demolition charges and then rewire a couple planes to fly remotely with a bunch of manikins?:shaking:
 
Browsing the book of faces yesterday as my model regenerated, I noticed one of my friends commented on a status of some page that asked about why we've not been back to the moon.

The comments were PRICELESS!!!!!! I was brave enough to look at the top 4 or 5.

First one..duder had unrolled a semi truck of tin-foil and laid claim to aliens being on the backside of the moon, and the astronauts discovered their mushroom shaped buildings, then got the hell off the moon and told NASA to never return. Claim was based on the fact that we don't have photographic capabilities to get a clear (non grainy) picture of the moon. 18,027,356,812,462,938,751,897 replies later and I was dumbfounded. I mean...I KNOW some of these people walk amongst us, and they even vote (which explains a LOT since the 80's) but REALLY?

I'll be the first to admit I LOVE a good troll....but even a good troll can only last a FEW responses until you either walk away giggling knowing you've had your fun, or you grow bored. This went on for...man...I'd say days. And the duder defended every comment he made (which got weirder and weirder)
 
I don't know what's out there, but considering there's as much of our own planet that hasn't been touched and we're discovering new life forms on a daily basis...I'm not willing to close the door on the thought there's more out there.
 
I haven't had a neighbor to the left of my house in probably 4 years? It got foreclosed, some guy bought it to flip and hasn't ever put it on the market.

On a side note, at some point after that guy bought the house I started getting letters and visits from the zoning people, guess someone complained about all the army trucks and junk. Now that side of my house is lined with stuff just to piss the guy off, screw the zoning police haha. Love living in the county.

(To note, neighbors all around me have never had an issue, they actually think the trucks are cool--i don't park EVERYTHING I own at home haha)

I have found that if you spend too much time on there you will slip in to a depression and give up on any hope for the future.Ive been around the block a time or two but it still amazes me how some folks act/think.

Wow... I was driving a 7 ton on a convoy in Iraq when my co-driver started in on how 9/11 was an inside job, and then that the moon landing was staged. I never wanted so badly to have an "accidental discharge" of my service rifle, or tell him to GTFO and let Durka Durka Dan have his way with his pansy ass.

Anyway, having studied the cosmos some, and some of the inner workings of astrophysics, and seeing other star/planet systems out there... there's no fucking way we're the only "intelligent" life in this vast expansion of space. Considering that they are many thousands of light years away... think about the magnitude of that for a moment. One would have to travel at the speed of light (~300 million meters per second or a mere 670 million miles per hour) for several thousand YEARS to make it there.

Because, when they analyzed the rocks they brought back, they saw the moon wasn't made of gold, uranium, or cheese. If there had been any value in the moon, especially tactical/military (uranium) you can bet your ass we'd have had folks living there since 69.
