But they are here for the wifes baby shower today so I suppose I can let it slide. This one is due in less than a month (June 4th) and is freaking me out (it's our second, was unexpected, and neither vehicle I own is two carseat friendly).

Looks like a mini van will be parked in your yard soon.

We're due in August and I used that to justify getting my ext cab 7.3 because the Tacoma wouldn't fit a car seat easily. It also works as a new dd and tow rig so I'm happy. It will be a long time for our second, then I'll have to buy a crew cab.

I seen the fire and was hoping you were gonna say one of them burst into flames....

We planned ahead and bought a crew cab when we bought our new Ram. Looked at the extended cab but the difference in room was nice and worth it for when #2 comes along

Should have went ahead and got a crew cab. Extended cab 7.3s don't really have enough room for a car seat in the back. Gotta slide the passenger seat way forward

My wife is short so it's not really an issue, still tons more room than my Tacoma. Plus you can never have too many trucks.

I tried to use it as an excuse to buy a crew cab and keep my extended cab... Girl friend said I was stupid. Said were not married yet or have a kid so why would I need another one..... She doesn't get it

The extended cab chevy i had worked well for a rear facing infant seat in the front seat. It was an '01 so had the switch to disable the air bags. The reverse opening rear doors gave you tons of room to get baby in and out. Rear facing seat didn't fit in back though.

If you bought a Dodge, you could have put three car seats in the back. :shaking:

I hope I don't ever have to have the need for 3 car seats, plus I don't really feel like paying what people are asking for the Dodge's.

I haven't tried putting one in the back yet, I think the seat we bought was a forward facing but I really can't remember. The suicide opening rear doors do give a lot of room to get in the back which I liked. I just have to figure out how to get a seat in the back of the Tacoma for trail rides or I'm gonna have to buy a Jeep.

They have to be rear facing until they weigh 22# and are at least a year old. A lot of the seats are convertible, though.

Am I the only one that is looking for a reasonable excuse to buy a vehicle that doesn't accommodate the kids???
I'm also buying it as a replacement DD and to finally have a tow rig that can accomplish highway speeds.

It also gives me a chance to do the SAS in my explorer and put an engine in it that doesn't leak out half the coolant in a couple weeks. Let's face it, with 275,000ish miles on it the explorer 4.0 just seems a little too tired for a head job.....

Got four cars and two motorcycles, no 4 doors! And I keep the back seat from the wrangler in the house.

Which is a stupid arbitrary rule.
When you have a 9 months old kid who woeghs 35lbs and doesn't fit in any rear facing car seat made what do you do?

Become an outlaw I suppose

Or just let em run around in the back floor, seat, or rear window like we did as kids. I don't think I ever sat in a car seat as a kid and I turned out mostly OK
