NEW 07 UNLIMITED SAHARA

Thanks guys, but today we spent about 3 hours "talking with the dealer and finalizing the deal" we decided that 560 bucks per month was a little high for a Jeep. We ended up buying a 4door hemi-powered Jeep Hauler. It was the smarter move. We may trade the TJ in, in a year or so for the Rubicon Unlimited but for now the JK just did not do it enough. Don't get me wrong, it is very nice but when it was all said and done it would have cost $34-$35k. The Ram was about the same so the wife and I talked and being able to haul the TJ around is a little more important right now. ANYONE GOT A TRAILER FOR SALE?

That thing looks totally queer. Congratulations on not buying it.

Although, for the guys that do like them, you might want to pick one up now. It's going to be IFS/IRS in the 2008 MY.

Where do you get that from? I have read alot about these and watched interviews of Jeep corporate talking about it and they said the biggest and hardest decision about making this model line was whether it would be straight axle or not and that in the end it came down to not wanting to alienate the straight axle crowd which had kept jeep the icon it is today. I would be very surprised if what you say is true. Jeep seems aware that sales would flop if they took the 4.0 and SA so the new faux dana 44's were the compromise. New straight axles and engine but still 4 link straight axle suspension. Just my .02.

check this link...it shows JK's wheeling and Jeep explaining the changes

I just made it up. :shaking:

But the sooner you come to accept it as inevitable, the less butt-hurt you'll be when it comes true. It's only a matter of time.

What was it that guy Deiter at DC said about the Jeeps? That they used too many "heavy duty" parts, and that they needed to share more driveline components with the cars that MB and Chrysler made. The future of "Jeep" is with the Compass.

Nice Nice Jeep. I wish the new fj crusier had a removable top

You also have to remember that jeep does not change the stype of a jeep but every 10 years. So I think the JK will be around for a very long time. By the time they change the JK things will be a lot different.

yeah the day that chrysler decides to drop the solid axles in favor of ifs/irs is the day that they will altogether drop the wrangler itself. heck if they decide to do it i will just buy jeep from them and drop every model but the wrangler and do it right. cus you know i got that kinda money.

I've actually been trying to talk my wife into trading the 'ol XJ in for one. We looked at a few TJ's, but they are just too small for a family. This KJ looks like a good replacement for the XJ. I just don't dig the Liberty, even with the diesel. But of coarse she would rather have the BMW...

My wife loves her Liberty, but considered trading it in for a JK. The 08 Liberty is goiing to be bigger and have a diesel available again for more info on the 08 Liberty check out dodge.com and click on the nitro.
Anyone who is bashing the JK should really look at one in person as everywhere the TJ was improved over the YJ the JK just did the same to the TJ. The 3.8L has been a very stout engiine over the past few years almost as good as the 4.0L

Did you take the top off yet? Get some pics.

Hey, Sorry I did not post on this thread but we opted not to get the Jeep. It was a little too pricey for a Jeep of its stature. We got a F150 Lariet SuperCrew instead. I needed something to tow my Jeep and it was a little smarter of a choice right now. Especially with the Rubicon JK Unlimited coming out next year. Thanks John

Earlier in the thread you said you got a Hemi powered Ram instead. Did that not work out either or did you get both ? Just curious, both are bad @ss trucks.

LOL, about an hour before I went to sign the paperwork on the Ram I went to the dealer next door and feel in love with my f150 Crew cab. The ford is just a better truck than the dodge IMO. Thanks I will post some pictures if you guys want>?
