Yeah, you caught me!

Maybe I should have changed my name to protect the inocent!

Hello from CT

Hello from up north in Connecticut, the land of no legal public state land for offroading.

I'm in the process of job hunting in the Raleigh, Durham areas.

What I really need to know, is what kind of offroading will be available to me once I move?

I think the official answer to this is, "So much you may end up choking, so take it slow."

There are many places within an easy drive from Raleigh. You will really enjoy it here.

Private land?
Public land?
Rocks? Mud? Trails? Little of everything?

CTJeep (of which I'm a member) is planning on heading to Tellico in July. I'll probably be heading there with them (hopefully, I'll have moved by then, will certainly make the road trip shorter) but I don't really know what's there.

Here in CT, we've got some dirt "roads" through our state forests, but most of them are passable by a stock subaru. Most of our hardcore rocks (even in neighboring states, RI, MA, NY) is on private property, by invitation only.

Tellico is located in the western most part of North Carolina and into Tennessee. Tellico trips are always a blast!

Good to see some folks from Sylva on here! Im a WCU alum.

Moving across the US

Hi everybody. The name is Dustin and I drive an 01 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer 4x4. It's pretty much stock but I've got some grand plans for the beast.

I'm still living out on the West Coast until Jan 19th, when my family and I will be flying out to Charlotte to find a new home. I'll be working in Gastonia.

I look forward to trying out some new terrain and meeting some fellow off-roaders.

Where are all the trails down east?!?

I know we have the beaches but I just lifted my Pathfinder and me and the guys want to go run some trails! Anyone know of anything east of Raleigh?

Oh by the way...I am a new member here so hi.

My name is Phillip, I my ride is a 2001 Nissan Pathfinder. I haven't done alot with it yet but I finally got the biggest lift available in the states...a whopping 2 inches!!(possible deployment in June to Japan, supposedly they have a 5 inch over there for my r50). Grew up in Charlotte and now living near the beautiful Crystal Coast and need places to wheel in both regions!
