New Member Check In - Post HERE <------------------

Hello out there from St. Petersburg Florida. BF and I are here on vacation right now and we've noticed how large the jeeping community is...compared to tampa bay where its mostly just people in stock JK's with windows up a/c blowing and mall crawlers.

I have a 91 XJ on 33's and 6.5 inches, BF has a 97 TJ on 42's that he is building. We daily drive a 89 Comanche.

We are throwing the idea around of moving out of Fl, North Carolina is now top of the list. It is alot closer to home then Colorado. What I'm looking for I suppose is suggestions on where we should be looking, it would be our first place? We'd like to be close to wheelin, but not to far from a city as well because we both have to work.
I currently work at Autozone, and BF is a full time mechanic.

Welcome, mommafox! Feel free to post up a new thread asking your questions about places in NC to relocate. It will probably get more attention and responses that way. There's a lot of folks from the Greensboro and Winston-Salem area and a fair amount from the Charlotte and Raleigh areas... all have their pros/cons and everyone has their opinions. ;) You'll find we're a generally friendly bunch though.

Welcome! Ill be in Tampa thurday and will be wheeling the ocala pits sat the 8th with LOJ feel free to pm me if you wanna join us.

No kidding. I'm on LOJ and we just did a pits and Hardrock run with them a few weeks ago. Best wheeling in FL.

My cherokee pic is from Alpha pit on the back side.

Maybe I'll see ya out there if I can get off of work.

Howdy from the huge metropolis of Crouse Nc

I just stumbled across this site while doing some research on a locking rear for my wife's S10. It is 2wd and needs all the help it can get. It seems to have some good information so I figured I would join.
Anyhow. I am not a hardcore off-roader. I have a 94 Chevy Suburban that I use in my scrap business that probably sees more in the dirt time than most dedicated off-road trucks.Only difference is mine usually does it with a 30 foot trailer tagging along behind it.
It is basically stock. with the exception of a TruTrac rear end and overload airbags.
I have a front bumper/grill guard replacement for it and a 10,000 pound mile marker hydraulic winch sitting in the shop that will get installed on of these years.
I just thought I would say howdy and If you see a big red Suburban with a vary overloaded trailer dragging along behind it, it is probably me. Give me a wave. I don't bite - usually.
The day I bought her.

Welcome. I used to live just north of ya'll in Hudson and raced stock cars at East Bay Raceway.

Hi, I'm just introducing myself. My wife and I just picked up our first TJ. It's a 5speed with the 4.0l engine. The plans are to do a 2-3" lift with a set of 32" tires.

We expect to take it out to uwharrie at some point. We also usually take our 4runner on the beach a couple times a year, the TJ will be taking it's place there.

Hey there, new guy here.

Hi everybody,

Heard great things about this site. I'm finally glad I joined. I have been Jeeping for many years with my three kids around North Carolina. We have a '88 Jeep XJ with 31" tires. She is an old beast but allot of fun. Now my youngest kiddo is 7 years old, we're hoping to get more Jeeping and adventure into our schedule. One of my friends, Jmauld just bought his first Jeep recently and we're looking forward to hitting the trails soon.

Just wanted to say Hi.

Thanks,
Brian

Just another new guy.

Thought I would join as I'm always looking for full size Jeep stuff and love N.C. Lived in Shelby, Liberty, Snowcamp, Wilmington. Living in Atlanta now and working in the capacity of an plant engineer. If it runs on gas I'm all in. Even better when mud or rocks are involved.
Jim

Hello everyone! I just recently found this site and liked it so I figured I'd join. I live near Winston-Salem and just traded my lifted 1990 F150 for a 2011 Nissan Frontier Pro-4x that is bone stock for now, but I plan on modifying it and taking it out to places like Uwharrie and such.

Thanks,
Rob
