New Member Check In - Post HERE <------------------

Hey guys, new here from Rocky Mount. I'm a member on a couple of other forums and am looking to learning more about jeeps. I have a 2000 Wrangler with a 3.25" lift and 33" MTR Kevlars and couple other goodies. Anyone willing to be my sponser so i can post in other sections to ask question and what not?

Hey folks, new member here checking in. I've just recently returned to 4wheeling after years of spending too much money on dirtbiking, I kinda doubt that this will be any cheaper though.
I came back because I just inherited my first vehicle I ever drove. It's a '63 Willys CJ3B that ran but had no brakes, frozen axles, rusted body, leaking everywhere...you get it.

Here's a link to the rebuild if you care to check it out.

The Jeep's finally on the road again and this weekend my son and I plan to take it on it's first voyage in 35yrs.

Welcome aboard Goosedog thats a pretty cool build. I seen that cj5walt was putting together a cj5 run at URE in may. My first jeep was a 1945 army issue with the 24 volt electric system, Flat head 4, breather and exhaust riser pipes and the miltary 3 switch start. If I'm not mistaken it had the plunger above the gas pedal for start. I think it would run about 35 mph wide open down hill. :) Man I miss that jeep.

hey gang, im josh, long time wheeler, first time on nc4x4. ive had multiple 4x4 rangers, multiple 4x4 cherokees, a wrangler, F150 FX4, and nope a 96 nissan hardbody...which im enjoying, just thought id say hey and glad i found a local 4x4 forums. URE is my stomping grounds during the summer months. hope to see ya there!

Hey guys, I'm Steve. Originally from Charlotte, NC currently living in Melbourne, FL. I'm moving back to NC (Asheboro/Greensboro) area in June. Can't wait. The woods down here in FL are just too flat!

Oh yea, almost forgot. I've got an 89 YJ sitting on 33's. Not many major mods yet but plenty to come over the summer!

Disregard following statement. My dyslexia took over. I thought he said Murphy.
The best 'wheelin' spot in NC used to be right there in Franklin. Tellico in the Nantahala National Forest, but the tree huggers got it shut down a few years ago. Lots of places in Tennessee, though.

I have been on the board for a few years, but really haven't posted anything. Just got an 04 TJ 2 weeks ago, and ordered an OME lift for it, going to be ordering a few more things for it soon. Going to go with either 32s or 33s and just have a fun DD. Hope to be able to head to Uhwarrie a lot this summer.

Checking in.

I have a pretty much bone-stock 2004 4Runner with a leveling kit.

Are there any good places around Greensboro/Winston/High Point for an absolute beginner (first timer) to go on a trail?

I figure the first step to rock crawling is getting the tires off of the pavement.

Welcome! Uwharrie National Forest isn't far from you and just reopened for the season. There are both 'easy'/beginner trails and clubs that ride there regularly to show you the ropes... check the upcoming events section. :)

Don't Offroad Nearly Enough

Bought a 1999 Ford Expedition in 2003 and plowed through my first creek (water up to the floorboards) in southern Missouri a week later. No big tires or offroad mods, so I have to be careful. Wife raked the side on a mailbox, so scratches from tree branches are now a non-issue. ;-)

Live in Darlington, SC. Looking for casual off-roading trails. Any suggestions?

My introduction

Hello my name is Derek. I'm in the process of turning my daily driver 2004 chevy trailblazer in to a capable offroad machine. Currently installed on vehicle I have a 2.75 inch suspension lift upgraded coil springs front and rear. More info and pics to come as soon as I have more time. My inspiration and help with this project has came from another forum site I'm a member of www.offroadtb.com.
