New Member Check In - Post HERE <------------------

Hey my name is Joey, I found this site by stumbling into people this past weekend at the Uwharrie during the Veterans run.... I was with my buddy in his Silver JK (LED Headlights, Bushwacker flares). I am from Raleigh, NC. I have an 89 Jeep Wrangler YJ and have made a few modifications to it. 4.2L straight 6, 6" SOA, 2.5" Shackles, 2" Body Lift, 4.56 Gears (in the rear, I still have to do the front), 35" Pro comp Xtreme Mud Terrains. Other then that minus a few little things here and there it is stock.....

Hello, new member from a few weeks ago. Just bought my first Jeep, having a blast in URE on the weekends when I can.

Hey everybody,

I'm Pete, originally from Michigan, now in N. Raleigh and I'm thinking about buying a XJ for general utility and off road adventures.
I've been a watercooled Volkswagen enthusiast for over a decade and it's just not that exciting anymore. All of my project cars are gone and I'm down to an unmodified daily driver.
Hopefully I'll be seeing some of you on the trails and at local GTGs.

Thanks!

Pete

hello,
Names mike, me and my girl just moved to leland from Ohio. We both decided that if we did not move when we were young we would never move at all. Does anyone know of a good shop near this area (looking to get ring and pinions done), do most stuff myself but i do not have to tools needed to do those. Also were are some good places to wheel around here? i have a 01 xj on a budget 5" lift, 33 km2s, 8k winch, not locked yet but hopefully soon lol. Hey y'all -- just dropping in to say Howdy. I have the BF to thank for pointing me to this forum to absorb and learn as much as I can. I'm an Asheville resident until about 8am tomorrow (New Year's Day), when I hit the road for a 1750mi trek to relocate to Durango, CO.

I currently own an '06 BMW X3 & an '08 Tacoma TRD Prerunner (yeah I know...WHY are you here? LOL)
Pretty sure a 4-door JK Rubi is in my future...

Hello all. Figured since im new here i would stop by here first. Name is Bryan and originally form Virginia Beach. Now i reside in the irredell (cant spell worth crap) area. Never been offroading. Always wanted a Wrangler and i finally got one so i plan on learning it all... soon. I have a 2008 Jeep Wrangler. Right now stock but plan on having some fun with it soon and hopefully hit trails with it soon as well. It's a daily driver so sadly i cant do anything to big or extreme. Not that i would be able to anyways =))

Hey all, just moved back to the good ole USA from Germany, stationed at Pope Field. Should have my Jeep soon. Look forward to finding places around here to wheel and meeting people to help get me unstuck. 2000 XJ should be here next month. 3" lift on 32s. Winch will be on when she arrives.

Hi Everyone,
Just wanted to say hello. New to the Asheville area, have jeep and looking to do some wheelin'. Have had a few jeeps over the years, have been out of wheeling for a while because I was living somewhere where it wasn't practival to do. Looking forward to hitting the trails!

Hi All,
I'm not in Raleigh yet, but I'll be there in a while. I will be in Raleigh Feb 22-23 and I'll be looking for a home. If you're a realtor, send me a PM. I have had my CJ since 1996 and I have replaced/repaired/renovated every part of my Jeep over the years. I have mostly been rock crawling in California, so the South East will offer up a whole new experiance for me. I'm pretty excited!

Hi everyone, name is Michael, I've heard alot about the site so I figured I'd join. I'm a technician for Toyota. In school full time/work full time, its a handful.
I have a '95 Cherokee 4dr/aw4/4.0HO. Lightly modded, looking to do a mediocre sized lift and start piecing that together immediately. Anyways, just wanted to check in, seems like a great forum with lots of tech and good people. I'll be here for awhile as I'm trying to give my XJ a huge makeover, went from not giving a shit about it and wanting to get rid of it, to wanting to fix all of the issues and keep it for awhile, mod it of course. Cheers!

Just got tires, before some bodywork:

Going to work on getting this thing to sit this high without a jack underneath it :p Also planning on cutting rear fenders to match front, I've got some rusted out rocker panels as well as floor pans to address in the mean time as well: *Edit* oh yeah, I replaced my broken side mirror since this was taken, haha.

Howdy!

I Just moved to Asheville from Minneapolis, Mn and I'm happy to be out of the flats and into the hills. The lack of snow is pretty awesome too.

I have owned a couple of fun rigs, from CJ7's to Nissans, to MiniTrucks, but always go back to my 97 Lexus LX450 which is the only one remaining in the stable (except for bikes)

I'm stoked to be back in a great part of the world! Look forward to meeting some of y'all in the future.

Hey man, you're relatively close, might have you do some vinyl work for my xj soon. I'll be in touch when I'm ready! Nice to see some locals in the Asheville/Columbus co. area!

I'm a former Toyota tech, I left Toyota when they dropped the SFA out of their trucks and went IFS. I thank Toyota for turning me to Jeeps LOL! And yes, I'm that old!

LOL yeah sometimes when I'm working on stuff I just stop and think... Im glad I have an XJ, not this stuff. The FJ's are sweet lifted with 35s but other than that... I wouldn't have a new Yota. Not that theyre bad in any way, just not my cup of tea.
