Yo,

I'm Cory. I just moved (actually, am in the process) here from Missouri. Few questions and yeah I didn't search very well:

1. Bought a 1995 Range Rover the other day. Want to do a body lift. Any off-road shops in the triangle area that have decent rates but more importantly do quality work?

2. I am kind of a car enthusiast and have a few little toys. Is there an eastern and/or North Carolina site specifically for the race crowd? I went to carolinarides.com and it looked to be it. Cool site. I recognized some of the Supra guys' names from there.

3. Anyone have a backyard pool or mini-ramp they don't mind an old-schooler skating?

4. Does anyone do work on autos for beer and pizza any more? I HATE turning wrenches. :)

Thanks, site is really informative and well run.

Hey guys (and gal?)...thanks for the replies.

I am going to do the body lift for sure. Probably within a month's time. I was going to do a front and rear axle swap so I could run a bigger tire, but this is my daily driver and I don't really want 35's. So, I'll probably just go with a body lift for now. I was going to winch it but I don't think I'll do that either. Got bills and (hopefully) a wife in the near future.

Later,
Cory

just checked jcwhitney for bodylifts and they dont have one for a rover. what company were you planning on buying it from, or were you gonna built it yourself

Don't think you are going to find a lot of people to do your work for you. Yeah many of us work on others rigs, but it's a trade off usually. We work on mine, then we work on yours kinda thing.
Besides, if you don't work on your own stuff, how you gonna be able to fix it when you break it?
just food for thought

haha.. someone acknowledged not everyone on here was male :jump:

anyways.. have you coincided getting a small cheap car for a dd? I had to.. and saving alot. the money I save on gas is enough to cover the taxes, and then some. were I was filling the jeep up twice a week with 15 gal, I fill the Honda up once every 2-1/2 - 3 weeks with 10 gals. plus if you break something wheeling you are still good.

RoverTym and a company on Ebay both make bodylifts for the 1995 LWB County.

Understandable. I've never enjoyed working on cars but it doesn't mean I can't. I owned a shop in Missouri to where that's all I did.

TJchick,

I have a few other cars than this. I'm not really worried about breaking any of them.

my sister lives in springfield.

check out www.horsepowerjunkies.com for a good local car/performance oriented board. a few mean supras over there.

Rufus..

Wow, that's random. What's her deal (work, school, marriage, etc...)??? If she's around my age (I'm 25), I'm sure I know of her or know someone that does.

HP Junkies looks cool. I recognize some of those guys too. I go to the national Supra meets every year and have a pretty decent photographic memory. I'm in the process of selling both my Supras right now.

RoverClubHouse in durham is a reputable shop. They could do the bodylift if you wanted, and they aren't that bad price wise. Although the bodylift does take a while to install(not hard, time consuming) So the hourly rate could be high.

Hey,

welcome to the area and to NC4x4.

i work at an offroad and performance shop in north raleigh. you should stop by sometime.

she's a psychologist at the federal prison. she's 37, so i doubt you'd know her... though she does act like she's still in her mid 20's:lol:
