new to the Triangle area, new ride..and pics!

Welcome from another transplant. Moved back to the Raleigh area from Houston, TX just over 3 weeks ago. I lived in Houston from June '02 until then.

I do help with wrenching for beer and pizza.

Think more like swampers and the winch that will be pulling you out of a mudhole.

Dont do mud much and last time I buried it we ripped the winch bumper off a heep. Took a ferd, a chebby, a jeep and a toyota yanking on it to get it out. Tweaked the frame and had about 400 pounds of mud packed into the engine compartment. Gotta love the mad dashes through a hole, grab about 3 foot if air and plant it to the door handles. No wonder my wife wont ride with me half the time.

Might be a yellow toy pulling the rover out. LOL

Hey guys (and gal?)...thanks for the replies.
I am going to do the body lift for sure. Probably within a month's time. I was going to do a front and rear axle swap so I could run a bigger tire, but this is my daily driver and I don't really want 35's. So, I'll probably just go with a body lift for now. I was going to winch it but I don't think I'll do that either. Got bills and (hopefully) a wife in the near future.
Later,
Cory

Now don't take this as a negative comment. Its just good friendly 4x4 advice. But from the sounds of things you really might want to hold off on all the mods and stuff until after the marrige and see if the future wife is ok with it. A lot of guys have to sell their rigs because of their women or the relationship or some crazy reason.

And if you are really just getting into it, well then you are in for a BIG shock. Once you get bite by the 4x4 snake you cannot go back. Just be ready to empty all your pockets and spend your hard earned money on a NEVER ending project vehicles(s). This will consume a lot of time energy and $. The good thing is you will make lots of new friends and people to hang out with. Join a Landrover group and you should be fine. You will run into and meet people you dont like too just ignore them and move on.

Once again Welcome to NC4x4 and "WE" hope to see you on the trails soon. Take care and yes ROVERCLUBHOUSE in durham off I 70 is the place to go to get your rover worked on. Bye.

Yeah, call me quite of a coat tail rider, but I bought it modded. The only mods I'm doing/done to the Rover are swampers, a body lift, and a winch. I couldn't afford to swap gear ratios on this thing if I made a million bucks a year (it seems).

I actually will be selling it soon, too. I just bought a full size pickup and between that and my race car, its unneccessary to keep it (from a financial standpoint).

Well, CROC will be the place to go if/when you decide to sell it, too. Come straight up 70, take the exit for Hwy 98. Go right off the exit and go thru the light right at the overpass. Take the next right, turn in at the bowling alley and go around back on the left. There are a bunch of work bays back there, one or more of them will likely be in one or another.

Actually sold it today. :( I hated seeing it go but had to do it.
