other than the new member introduction thread, are there threads or a space on here for people new to owning 4x4 (jeep)… I'm interested in joining some club, that can hopefully point the way for my husband and I. I grew up with my dad owning Jeeps, so I have been on the beach A LOT driving it previously, but have only been on inland trails once (and that was in mexico driving). My mechanical knowledge has been on german cars as of late, so this jeep, and parts, lifts, suspension etc, is a huge learning process

.. I *think* my dad was a member of the Trailblazers in the beginning, I have his patches.

any advice is appreciated. thanks in advance.

is the "outpost on 109"...is that the general store?

You may be thinking of the Uwharrie trails general store. It's on the left on 109 coming down from Thomasville, there at Coggin rd.

The Outpost is a little further down on the right. It's a BP

And we will be in that big field across 109 behind the barn

Come back and check out the Carolina Trail Blazers! We ride once a month and have our annual fun caravan October 12-13.

lol...I laughed at "come back"...it was my dad that was the member, he passed away a few years ago...but he was a member way back in the early days (i.e. early 70's)...I grew up running around in the winter in his BIG coat that had the patches on it...now I plan on putting one of the small ones on a hat.

Still part of the family though! I guarantee we still have members that would remember him!

Was your Dad, a Walker? I'm not good with names, but have been around a long time.

no Walker is my married name...his name was Bill Duncan...also went by Chas, Charles Duncan JR.

my husband laughed "oh yeah we will buy some tickets, good cause, and heck, YOU might get a jeep"... he thinks our jeep is HIS... BLAHAHAHAHAHHAhahahahahahhahahaha

if there are some old timers around that remember him, I wouldn't be surprised, my dad was a one of a kind character :)...honestly it would be great to meet some new people that knew him then, I love hearing stories, and he passed before I met my husband, so I always like introducing him to people that knew my dad.... makes my stories make sense LOL

I'll check some old membership books. Robbie Mozely is the "I remember" guy!
Up-date, I just checked back to 1992, the oldest book I have. No Bill/Charles listed. Had to be before 92. I think Robbie has some books Older, & whoever is storing CTB History should have from 71 & up. Was fun seeing some former & current names though!

Hope you have some of his Jeep pictures to show us. I might remember that better than faces & names!

haha I have been trying ti figure out how to post a pic of my jeep here....and I have some of my dad's jeep pictures around here somewhere, I do have a pic of him on top of one of his bronco's, proud that it got stuck (I think) in his old front yard lol...I know that his jeep was red, and his jeep truck was red, lol...so descriptive I know lol!

Vice commander (Chris) is in a TJ

I am in a TJ as well (Troy)

CT secretary.jpg

And our treasurer and spokesmodel (James) will be in......OK..that's a difficult one, and he has more than a dozen to choose from.....lets just say he has the long flowing sparkling silver beard (can't miss him)

But don't mistake the beard comment to mean Lankford

His beard is glorious as well, just not as "snowy"

Grab any one of us, and we'll introduce you to who all is there ;)
