My right front hub let go on the first ledge of Cripple Creek last week. The axle and ujoint is fine. I'll be needing a good 5 lug hub if anyone has one laying around. I haven't even looked for the replacement yet.

I’ve got several locking hub parts for a 44 laying around but not real convenient to your location

Wow. Never seen a failure like that. I don't have the hub but also have several locking hub parts.
If I were to guess I'd say that the locking hub mechanism failed and bound up.
Might be worth it to look at the Yukon Hard Core locking hubs.

Pretty cool. Looks like there was a little crack at the outside edge, and when you sent it the final burst of torque, the crack shot up the hub and then tore from the torque until it was loose enough for the innards to bust.

That's a good catch, Mr. Engineer

I actually bashed this side on rocks 2 years ago at Harlan so I'm not surprised. This is a replacement Warn hub on it but I didnt look for nor see a crack when I replaced it.

Definitely never seen one break like that.

Wow. Never seen a failure like that.

I had mine swell up due to broken hubs but never seen one split.

Definitely never seen one break like that.

Those exact words uttered by _EVERY_DANG_ONE_ of us on the trail!

Didn't exactly give me a warm/fuzzy for the same parts standing by for install on MY D44!
Of course, I'll skip the magnafluxing and just slap them on like @R Q did, cause we'll likely never see it happen again? :flipoff2:
