I guess my post time manifests my answer. Im sitting on the porch playing with night mode on my camera and researching lathe specs.

This Samsung is ok, but nowhere near as good as the Google Pixel 2.

Anyway, back to topic. Studies show that early birds think they are better than night owls, and night owls don't care.

I'm definitely an early bird. Starting my day taking my dogs out right now.

I have been at work for 30 mins. Definitely early bird for me.

I can't stay up late unless I'm pulling a bender. And I can wake up at 2:11 and never go back to sleep. I am also told that I have an off switch in my ass because when I sit on a couch or comfy chair most any time of the day I will fall out! Early Bird? Meh, if I need to get up early its hard, if I want to sleep and rest, I'm up at the crack of ass.

Same here! Sometimes it's takes the wife and I a week to finish a 1hr show because I keep falling asleep

Given the right reason and enough dew, I can be up all night. But by 2200 Im exhausted and have to prop my eyelids up. But give me a couple hours sleep and I can be ready to roll by 0100. Also, I usually go from asleep in bed to pulling out of the garage in 15 minutes or less on a normal day.

The only thing I'm consistent with is total inconsistency. Crackhead, for sure 😅

I went to sleep at 2:30 and woke up feeling like a million bucks about 7:15. Other times, I sit down and just rest my eyes only to wind up time traveling 8 hrs during a nap. Sleep roulette is always a fun game for me. Time isn't real!

Early bird, but out of habit I guess, at work 7am everyday. Weekends I still wake up by 6:30ish, unless I had too much brown liquor then its 8:00. If I'm doing somehting I can stay up, sitting on the couch 10:30-11:00 I'm going bed. Wife hates that I'm asleep in 5-10 minutes.
My son though he has to be at work by 5am so he's in bed by 7:30 -8:00. On Fridays or occasionally Thursday if he isn't working the next day he will be out till 2 or 3a I couldn't do that. after starting at 5a

Yep, same here. I can do it in 12 minutes, including the morning dump and a shower, if I'm hustlin, but 17-20 minutes is the norm.

Anyone else have the sick habit of waking up before their alarm? I set my alarm 10 minutes late since I was up late last night, but still woke up about 5-10 seconds before it went off. This happens all the time, regardless of what time it's set for. Be it an early alarm at 5am, or a late alarm at 8:30 on the weekend, or my normal 6:50, I'll pop awake, look at the clock, and then a couple seconds later my phone will start buzzing.

After decades struggling to get up and at work by 7am, I had to give up on it and become a college professor so I can sleep in until 8am since I don’t have class until 11am.

But I also stay up until 3am grading projects and homework no problem. But ask me to get up before 7am and I’m a cranky asshole for about 3 hours.

Yes. I can count on one hand the number of times my alarm has actually woke me up in the last 10 years. Doesn't matter what time it's set for, 99% of the time I'll wake up between 1 to 5 minutes prior.

As to the original question, I used to be closer to night owl but really it was what I would consider normal-ish. In bed by 11p, usually asleep shortly after, and up by 630a if I had to work or 730-8a on a day off. But during cancer I became an insomniac because of the nurse checks every 4 hours. So I slept a few hours two or three times a day. Now it's rare for me to be asleep before 1a or 2a, and up between 8a and 9a.

Mornings blow donkey balls...don't talk to me before 10am...but there's a good chance I've been up since 6am. Never been one of those people that can just 'go to sleep'...I usually pass out from exhaustion and crash where I fall.

I can get out the door in 2 minutes, but the pager tends to give ya a shot of adrenaline. But yea getting fresh clothes, teeth brushed, morning dump, ect takes a few extra minutes.

Oh, and I cant sleep in. My brain just wont let me. If I manage to sleep til 0700 I wake up in a panic cause Im late for something.

I guess I’m both. I work 12 hr rotating shifts so it depends on if I’m working days or nights that week. On my first night shift back I’m usually up by 6-7 when the kids get up. Watch them all day, then leave the house 4:30-5PM, work 5:48-6:00AM, come home and may get to bed by 8:00AM and sleep until 12:30-1:00. Then repeat that for 3-4 nights. When I’m on days I finally get to bed about 11:00, get up at 3:15-3:30AM, get dressed and usually go mess around with something in the shop for an hour or so, then head to work and work 5:48-6:00PM. On my days off I’m usually up by 6:30-7:00 whenever the first kid wakes up.

Pass. That sounds terrible. I've never understood why companies switch between days and nights. I would always feel tired and mentally off.
