Is there really a quality difference between these 2 brands nowadays? Going to get some 4.88's installed in our JKUR and I've always had Yukons in the past but it's been years since I've had something regeared. @Jody Treadway

Yukon isn't a manufacturer. Rather they're a "brand". You can get a few different manufacturers in a purple box.
For a JK, I like installing Motive or Revolution gears above others. They're (essentially) all made in the same factory. But to differing QC standards.
Either of the above will yield good results

Going to ECGS they said nitro is they're go to for jk's. They're a good company that has done other axles for me so I trust their opinion. Like I said tho it's been years so I don't have any knowledge of which brand is better when it comes to anything inside the axles.

I’ve never dealt with them on JK axles but I have never had them recommend Nitro products… as much as I hated dealing with revolution and their master kits suck, I think they are the better option from what I have heard based on others experiences.

Over the last few years, my group has had three crap Yukon gearsets in JKs, the breaks looked like there may have been voids in the castings, we've all pretty much switched to motive...

I've had similar experiences too. Personally on installs for others and also a friend who runs a local 4x4 shop. He had 4 bad/noisy AAM 11.5 Yukon gears in a row. He fixed it with an AAM brand kit.
I don't order Yukon gears, period. If someone brings them to me to install, I will. But I won't warranty any noise issues
My Ranger and Lisa's ZJ run a mix of Motive and Revolution gears

All three of the failed sets were from a similar time frame, Guessing they came out of 2018 to 2020 runs at the factory... So it's entirely possible that Yukon just had a few bad lots of gears, and corrected the problem. But that doesn't matter, they lost the business of a group that does two or three re-gears in an average year, and We're not gonna chance their stuff again. Given the number of gear changes you do, I'm sure you were a bigger loss to them!

It was about 5 months ago. Assuming newer stock.
