No complaining if you don't vote.

What is the basis of the argument that if you don't vote you have no right to complain?
I stopped voting.... Heres why i have but am considering voting this go around to just get the lesser of 2 evils in. I got tired of hearing " if voted for i will xyz", then doing a 180 or who ever threw the most money at the cause. If the wife tells me she is gonna wash the dishes and doesn't, well i can mouth a little and atleast feel better about it rather than the officer you have voted in and cant even get on the phone!!! Lol

Because this is a democratic republic, and the basis of our political direction is (supposed to be) dictated by the votes of the people.

Who's not complaining today ? ............I voted for Frump. I like his upfront F-U! suck it attitude, it seems more sincere than the same o same o BS every other spews to get elected. He's not well spoken and not pc but I believe he wants to do what he says he'll do if he gets elected. It would be refreshing if he was successful w 1/3 of his ideas on fixin this mess we call gubmnt today.

The idea behind the "no complaining if you don't vote " is no one wants to hear you bitch, piss and moan abut things later, when you didn't do the one thing you could have to impacted the outcome.

Every conservative person who stays home and doesn't vote is essentially voting for Hillary Clinton, by not canceling out one of her votes.

You could say the very same thing about cousin Eddie. Only difference is Eddie didn't grow up with a trust fund

The problem I have with Trump is not what he's saying, but more the fact that he feels the need to say it and is getting by with the "I'm just saying what everyone else is feeling, so I'll say it anyway." That's not presidential. While I want my president to get stuff done, and I want him to speak the truth, I'd like my president to have some tact.

As I've said before, just because the bride IS a whore, doesn't mean you need to announce it at the wedding.

Tact = PC

we have had enough of that shit, time to use straight talk and hurt some feelings.

I'd rather someone tell me upfront instead of beating around the bush.

Tact isn't just about being PC. Presidents all through history have said things that were inflammatory at times when it was called for. Our country has enemies. No doubt about that. But, the president has to ride the line between diplomacy and extreme confidence that he is sitting as Commander In Chief of one of the largest standing military forces on the planet. When the president speaks, acts or gestures, everything is viewed on a world stage.

Here are some "in your face" speeches by some former US Presidents. Can you imagine Trump, Cruz, Hillary or Bernie giving any of these speeches?

I can't even watch this year's political debates without feeling like I'm watching my kids fight. Between Trump's lack of consistency (the wall will cost 4 billion, no make that 8 billion - no somewhere between 10 and 12 billion...screw it, we'll just send the bill to Mexico and make them pay for it) and Cruz's junior high school style name calling, Hillary's constant droning which sounds like a nagging housewife and Sanders' finger wagging whiny "I'm not being heard" little Yiddish grumpy old man bit; the whole thing is getting old QUICK.

I think Theory of a Deadman nails it with this not-safe-for-work-or-near-your-family video:

I can't swear to it because I do not know...but I'd be willing to bet that Trump can find speech writers that are just as good as the writers of the significant speeches above. I'd also be willing to bet that trumps advisors will not be rookies either. I'm sure he can and will sound Presidential enough when/if the time comes.

Some folks seem to think they're just gonna let Trump have at it all by himself. I mean..come on, he's gonna have advisors just like any other president.

You don't get to be as successful as Trump without learning to surround yourself with the best possible people. Great businessmen know this, hell even my boss knows this :D

I like Trump, but he was born with a silver trust fund in his mouth. I think he would make a great financial advisor to another president, though. I just wish he was half as successful at getting a realistic hairpiece as he is in real estate. I do agree with Trump on at least one thing. All these years, we have sent politicians to negotiate deals and treaties. Let a businessman handle that and we will not have the trade deficits we have with all these countries and dysfunctional entitlement programs riddled with fraud. I'm a bit scared to put the power or the military in his hands, though. The past 4 decades have been spent with the office of the president trying to figure out how to be able to control the military and send soldiers to "war" without really calling it "war". Supposedly, only Congress has the power to declare war and then shifts authority to the Commander In Chief to control said military. Semantics aside, when our soldiers die from enemy gunfire, that's war no matter who "declares" it.

And don't get me started on Hillary. How she handled Benghazi is an absolute disgrace. Between her lies and cover-ups of it and the email scandal surrounding it, I'm amazed hat anyone still thinks she has a shred of integrity left. One Clinton already made the Oval Office the laughing stock of the political world, another just seems like hitting your hand with a sledge hammer just to forget the pain of your headache.

As stated, I'm sure Trump can afford some of the best speech writers on the planet. But a well written speech is only as good as the delivery by the speaker. What makes "Mr. Gorbechev, tear down this wall." such a great speech is not the content. Heck, he could have said that in a phone call. The delivery is so deliberate - so direct - with a perfectly timed pause and rhythm for effect. He had total awareness of his audience and held waiting for the applause to die down before nailing it. FDR was also a master of this. While GW Bush had a well-written speech after 9/11, his delivery was relatively soft. I can only imagine what that same speech delivered by Reagan or FDR would have sounded like.

I agree with you guys especially mommucked. I Frumped in the primary. I am tired of BS politicians in general. I think anybody outside of the "establishment" is worth voting for. Anybody that can beat Hillary (or God-forbid Bernie) I will vote for. I think DTrump is the only one that can do that. A successful businessman can certainly help and understand the perspective of the hard-working American that is tired of getting raped to pay for people who aren't doing their part. Just my $0.02.
