No more inspection stickers

Anyone know where I can go that will pass my tinted windows? I have three cars from out of state and all of them need tag renewals/inspections.

Good luck w/ getting somebody to admit this on a public forum :flipoff2:

I know. I don't know anyone out here and have expiring tags... so I was getting desperate. PM me if anyone wants to talk about wakeboarding, rock crawling, window tints, etc.

This is BS. I haven't gotten anything inspected in 4 years. They never linked my vehicle to the inspection... If you never get it inspected.

Pulled over for speeding = 50.00 ticket + 90.00 court cost + 25.00 inspection ticket.

Inspection 15.00/yr... 2 yrs no speeding ticket = 2yrs no 25.00 inspection ticket = me saving money, not supporting bull shitt.
That does not include my time going to the inspection station twice at 2hrs a pop. I haven't been pulled over for an inspection ticket only after they switched from the big date #s.

i think thats why they are doing this way now.

Put your windows all the way down and pull the fuse. You're not required to have side windows from what I'm told, and they can't put them up if they're down.

the problem w/ that logic is the $90 "court fee" that comes w/ the $25 fine. That is, if you were to get pulled just for that.

now you got to show where you had any tag car, truck ,trailer, bike inpected before you get tag
if you dont get your inpection done with in time limit you get a nice fat fine

Yea I know I caused this change.... Or did I just take advantage while I could. I'm not tring to rub anything in. I'm not sayin anything.... I'm just sayin... Damn.

Could you then just put your windows down when you pull up? Are they allowed to put them up to check?
No and yes we are allowed to put them up. People try it all the time. Just looks kind of suspicious when it's raining or cold outside and they roll up with all the windows down. Just like putting electrical tape over the check engine light. You might fool the inspector but you won't fool the computer.

So does this mean you can't renew your license plate online any more? How will the DMV get your proof of inspection? or will it just go into the computer system under your account, and pop up at the DMV?

It will be in the DMV computer system, linked to the vehicles vin# and then will become linked to your tag # when you get them. You will still be able to renew online and by mail.

The state has done away with the stickers to save money. nowthey charge you for transmitting (the same) data instead of for the sticker. There is no tampering on the window tint. If your windows are down and don't work, it's just fine. You are NOT required to have working windows to pass state inspection. You are NOT required to have a windshield to pass state inspection, but if you do the wipers must not streak. This new setup will not affect how you pas or fail. It's still up to the inspector to check that everything is there/working. Keep taking it to the same good ol' boy that's been doing your inspection, he'll still pass it just like always.

We got a notice from the DMV that we are to inspect EVERY vehicle that comes in reguardless of whether or not the vehicle has current tags, no tags, out of state tags or whatever. You have to have an inspection before they will renew your tags, (Or issue tags if you don't have them), (or issue you NC tags after moving here). After you get a passing inspection, they will send you your renewal form. (Or you can go to the lic plate agency to get your tags after moving here.)

Basically, the only thing that changes is you don't get a sticker anymore. It's designed so you can't inspect one car and put the sticker on another. (Not that this would work either because the computer has your vin and whether or not it was inspected.

So this means you can get the inspection with out having the registration?
also what about if you first buy a car from like a few hours away, i've been stopped before and you're supposed to get a plate registered to the car before you drive it home even if you just bought it, so what if you buy it but cant get it inspected, how are you supposed to get it home?

yes no paper work is needed

and you need to buy a 3 day permit

ok, my inspection expired at the end of october, when I went to get the sticker, I couldn't find my registration. When I went to the DMV, a copy of my registration was $15, but I renewed my tags instead for $28. Now my tag is good until 12/09. Can I just scratch the sticker off and wait until next december??

Amen bro......my honda only gets inspected when i feel like it.

The safety inspection didn't use to be monitered. (I.E. you wouldn't get a notice if you didn't get it inspected.) You will now because they've put it in the computer so it will be monitered.
