[Nov 8, 2014] Veterans Ride (Eldorado, NC)

When we have our 9am safety brief and get trail ride groups together, whoever may need a seat for the ride will have the chance, everyone will have a ride for saturday!
So far looks like there will be a good sized crowd camping.

Where are you heading out from, I'll head out there with you guys

Here is my itinerary for Saturday morning... anyone is welcome to fall in behind us...

6:00 am - Drop off my kid at Waffle House off near RDU (Airport Blvd/40 - Taking 540 Toll road south)
6:20 am - Coffee Stop @ Panera Bread at Beaver Creek Commons in Apex (65/55)
6:40 am - Drive by Bojangles in Pittsboro (64/501)
7:00 am - Drive by Bojangles in Siler City (64/421)
7:30 am - Drive by Bojangles in Asheboro (64/74)

Please no ATVs, Side by Sides, Dirt Bikes, Golf carts or similar allowed (unloaded) on UORTC grounds.
Please stay off the UORTC obstacles. They are used for training only! They will be taped off.
Please use only established fire rings. No new fire rings are to be built. If you have a above ground fire (holder) that is fine.
Please no alcohol. If you must drink, keep it covered or in a cup. Keep it and drink it at your campsite, not in the open areas.

Thank you for understanding and helping us with these rules.

BIG CREEK
We will have a sign-up sheet for the Sunday Big Creek drive available Saturday morning. 20 vehicles maximum (First Come, First serve). We will breakup into 2 groups with max of 10 per group. We have a new trail that we just opened. $35 per vehicle.

Did I read it where it says no four wheelers for this coming weekend? -Eva

I was doing some 4 Wheel to Heal searching and I saw this even on their page. I was already planning a weekend trip to URE for a Trails and Triggers event with the Southeast FJ Cruisers group. I would very much like to participate in some way in this veteran's event since I am a veteran.

What do I need to do at this late date? Am I too late? If so, I understand but will probably stop over at the UROTC side and check things out.

Come back to the UROTC around 3:30-4:00 for grub and a raffle and the ceremony. We will have baked taters and chili beans and baked goods. Invite all to come over, what this does for the vets amazes me( i am not a vet but many of my good friends are and it is a moving event).

Just to make it very clear, atvs/side by sides are welcomed in the forest to go ride saturday, on the UORTC property they just need to stay on the trailer. ATV,s/side by sides will need to be trailerd to the forest saturday morning as it is public state highway seperating the two.

I had posted this info on a thread on FB on your guys site. That was a while back though.

Hey everyone! I figured I'd look to see if I could find a decent rig to buy for my father to tag along to the event and ride with us, and damn did I find it. I found this gem at a good price, and couldn't help myself but to buy it, but it isn't something to keep. I figured I'd post here to see if anyone might be interested in buying it after the event! If not, no worries, but I figured that someone might be looking.

We've all seen the Conversions where you cut the rear end in the form of a "Truck Bed", and section the "cab" off right at the back of the rear seat. Well, I found one that I must say, was done extremely well.

I am excited to meet you all this weekend!

Just to be clear, this is our first time at Uwharrie. We have an open seat in the XJ and we also have an open four wheeler. We would like to offer this to a Veteran to ride or drive. We are to show up at 9am at UORTC on Saturday morning? Sorry for all the questions! -Eva
