NV4500's Suck

Ricky, I don't know what degree you have, but you should be able to find a position most anywhere closer doing anything more than being a warehouse grunt...

Just because you are fresh out of school doesn't mean you have to start at the bottom with everyone else. Sell yourself, don't take the first offer, and tell them what you want and will do.

I see all of my other peers getting out there and thinking they have to start at the bottom. fawk that, we didn't pay $50K in student loans to start at the bottom!!!

OK, back on track. I was off for a while, what vehicle did you get? The 5th gear isn't bad to fix and it isn't so much of a problem that the NV4500 is a bad trans, it just has its few little quirks that need to be refined to be a pretty good setup, much like the cummins.

Ricky,
1) Considered getting an apartment in Pineville/south charlotte?
You should be able to get a 2 bedroom for 700 month or so thats 350 each and save 100/week in gas...its not that easy requires utilities etc...but wiht 1 extra person thrown i it could get you on your own and cheaper.

2) Like has been said 5th gear is a fairly easy fix, if you didnt FUBAR the main shaft

3) You re looking for someone to point at you and tell you what you did wrong, well for a DD I would have never put power adders

4) You state you chose enjoyment over $$$$ in your job. Thats a fair choice to make, bt you cant turn around and bitch about it.

5) When you find the job/attitude that allows you to never know when your work ends and life begins you will be most content. It is not uncommon for me to be "working at 11pm nor is it uncommon for me to be looking at a boat, ATV or vehicle, or at gun range or hunting or fishing at 11AM either. Did it mean a suck job for a year or so? Yep...has it meant 2 years of utter happiness absolutely. You reap what you sow and all that shit. Eitheer be prepared to pay your dues or start your own gig and pay them that ay. There is no other option.

Chin up bro, you got your health.
Your dream Dode
A bogger tatoo
and a Z71

If anyone hears/sees a fair deal on a ZF6 lemme know. I am convinced I'm running too strong for my stock parts, and my driving doesn't help the least bit.......

Ricky,

On my old truck I bought I drove it back from asheville to Winston with no fifth gear, took the tcase out and 5th gear was fine shaft was fine, just don't drive it anymore till you look at it. You can get away for 50-75 bucks if you just need a locknut, get the one from dodge, use locktight and it has a set screw on the side of the nut to help lock it on. If 5th gear is chewed might run you 200-300 bucks for gear and locknut. If it is an easy fix, don't lug the tranny in 5th gear, this put too much load on 5th gear. Again don't drive it anymore till you get it fixed. Good luck bro

Damn ricky. That sucks bro! I know the feeling of being broke to work the job you enjoy. Im living it right now! It will get better, you just got to take your time on your purchases and think about eerrrything you do! To me it is well worth it! Big bucks does nothing for how i feel at the end of the day. Good luck on the tranny if i had any usefull info i would surely spit it out. I would def think about getting a cheapo 4cyl car to make that drive everyday.

got the tcase off, the locknut looks perfectly fine and is tight dosn't look like it moved, but one of the gears behind it is chewed up and the big gear below it is chewed up too . . . but the locknut is tight, seems like the gear behind the nut just failed and took out the other big gear below it with it :handed:

***Talked to Chase he's got me hooked up, should be able to get it fixed myself without too much trouble, just need some parts, thanks man :driver:
