I'm realllllly bad about things being in the places that they need to be... I don't have to cut the lights on or off 27 times before I leave a room or anything, but I'm pretty particular about a lot of things. My buddy has started to notice over the past few years. Every time I get in my truck and start it, I turn the notch in my key ring towards me and I usually don't even think about it.

I just straightened the coaster on my desk as I was typing this.... It wasn't lined up with the edge quite right.

My Kindergartener is OCD I am sure. It came to light when she was standing in front of my friend's refrigerator. She was standing there staring at it and he asked if she wanted something to eat. Sweetly she said, "No...your magnets are crooked." He asked if she would straighten them for him and she was the happiest little girl organizing his refrigerator magnets. Total polar opposite of my 4 year old son who just wants mess and chaos.

Hell...most of that stuff from the link I didn't even notice, except the tiles and yellow peep. I'm pretty sure I'm the anti-thesis to OCD, but I do have to do things a set number of times. I know multiples of 3's are typical of OCD folk, but since I'm weird with numbers, I have to have an even number and usually a multiple of 4, since 4 is a perfect square.

I don't see organization as being OCD... I need to be able to find things when I want/need them. I prefer symmetry or balance in objects and spaces (no wonder I got into architecture) and I eat M&Ms and Skittles by color, but I don't think something bad will happen if I don't... it just ensures I don't eat them all in two fist-fulls. ;)

We have a friend who counts the corners of every room he walks into.

A little bit of well placed white out is a good solution for this issue. But then the spacing would be off. Not sure which will bug me more.

I don't consider myself ocd mainly because it depends on what it is that drives me nuts. If I don't care about it then most of the times it doesn't bother me. But I try to stay organized for the most part, doesn't always work though.

Actually, as a designer, there are lots of times I will make a pattern (especially floor tile) non-repeating for the very reasons in that link. So a mistake doesn't stand out as much and so the 'pattern' is bigger and you have to really study it to find the repeat.

I was walking a house with a customer, we walked the entire house looking at paths for retrofitting whole house audio. As we were standing by the door to leave she asked if I saw any issues with the job. I said " No but one of the candle overlays in your row of chandeliers is upside, If you give me just a minute I will run to my van, grab a ladder and fix it." She laughed and said she had lived in the house 20 years and had never noticed or had that pointed out to her. It was a tiny detail in probably 10 chandeliers with 20 or so of those candle overlays on it. I noticed it like the second I walked in the house and had thought about it the entire walk through.
I also turn all the labels the same way when I put drinks/beer in the fridge and all the grocery's have to to be label facing out and fronted on the shelf when I put them away. I will only leave a flat head screw straight up and down when I put it in, even if it means it has to be over tight, or a little loose and I can't stand seeing numbers on my phone screen. No matter how busy I am , I have to clear the voice mail/Email/Text apps. I am also just one pocket away from carrying a level with me everywhere I go. Not because I can't see it, but because sometimes I have to prove it to be allowed to fix it.

Sometimes I wonder if I am....I don't have to do something a certain amount of times...but whenever I put my key in my jeep...the Jeep logo on the key has to be facing me....my stereo has to be on an even volume (14, 16, 18, etc) Steering wheel has to be straight when I park. but im not OCD :)

My wife is a tad bit ocd ...... the kids drive her nuts about it.
When we sit at a table in a restaurant, she will straighten the table against the wall ..... Then one of the kids will move ever so slightly ..... this goes on and on and on and on ..............

Her's is real specific though.
Example ... the bathroom counter .... everything has to be in it's place. Nice and neat.
Once the kids randomly placed everything on the bathroom floor.
She screamed!

Matt

My wife kids that I am OCD, but I am far from it, I just like symmetry and balance. As far as organization goes... well lets just say my two car garage has no cars in it right now haha.

We all have our OCD moments.
I don't consider myself OCD.
I have plenty of pet peeves though.

If I am on a porch, ANY porch, and there is a welcome mat.....It better be squared up to the door, if not, I will fix it. I've been caught many a times.
I ring the door bell...the boom, customer opens the door just as I am fiddlin' with their welcome mat.

Same goes for inside rugs too.

I make sure the screws that are holding the cover plate on all switches and outlets are the same direction whether they get screwed all the way in for tightness or not. It's more important that they are aligned to me.

Last night as the wife and I were doing our nightly walk after dinner, I noticed something else that I do....well don't do. I will not step on any cracks or lines in the road or sidewalk.....and on esclators, I have to be in front of her for some reason....

Youd make a great architect.
Form over function...it looks pretty even if it doesnt work...
