I haven't been able to get into gaming for a long while (many years) but watching some game play videos almost makes me want to get back into it (I don't have anything that could play it anyway). I know there are some people on here that have video game systems or a PC that could pay it, the name of the game is "Off-Road Drive".

Supposedly you can modify the vehicles with lower gearing, winch, locking diffs, a compressor to allow for airing up/down (I guess think CTIS), etc. The videos of game play do look impressive, it seems like a lot of real world physics are implemented. In muddy areas your truck makes ruts, you can "rock the trucks back an forth" if you get stuck, turning the wheel back and forth can help etc.

Hopefully someone on here has played it or will play it and share their feed back:

Looks pretty good. I'd be in if you could build your own rides and courses on the PC version. Used to do that on 4x4 evo2 but the physics sucked. You would bounce off rocks and all kinds of crazy stuff.

Yeah, the drivability of Evo sucked. We always ended up doing practice , jumping the fence and freeranging.

Just like all the cool production turbo diesel toyotas... not available in the
states.
But it looks cool

I could have sworn it said its available for download on Steam. I know its not available per say at Best Buy, but you should still be able to download it.

I used to play 4x4 Evo/4x4 Evo 2 and really enjoyed it because you could install custom rides and build courses. I built a couple maps and tweaked a couple vehicles which kept me playing for a while but eventually it got old. It sucked trying to do any technical wheeling because of the "bouncy physics". But it was still fun.

Wow.
I really want this now.

But... my 2.5 y/o laptop won't support it, lol.
May have to "borrow" one of the new ones from work....

I really want it, but 35 dollars for a downloaded game feels a little steep to me...

Blame the sliding value of the US dollar against the British Pound, it's being sold there for only 15pnds. That's the price converted. If we lived in the right country it'd be quite reasonable.
(imagine that last sentence w/ the English accent...)

The alternative is to order the actual box through Amazon UK, same price, but get ready to pay through the arse for shipping.

Yeah I built some bad rock crawling courses you could download from vales.com i think it was but same as you it just got old after a while.

I got a steam account so I might try this out on my desktop whenever i got some extra cash. I'd rather have it on my laptop to take to work with me but It couldn't handle it.

I dunno, shipping is kinda reasonable. I ordered a t shirt from a British site a few days ago...13£ with shipping. Equates to 17$ US. Can't get a decent screen printed t-shirt here for that, most are around 20-25$ 3£ shipping isn't too bad but it will take almost 3 weeks to get here..

so has anyone purchased it yet?

maybe we need a "group buy"... lol

I'm debating it but i can't actually run it on my PC at home, I'd be commiting myself to only being able to play it at work... or, bringing the "data analysis laptop" home with me so I can do more "work in the evenings"...

Yeah, I was about to say... if it's on Steam, wait a few weeks, it'll go on sale for half off or 66% off or something.

Also, that game should play fine on anything made within the last four years. It might look prettier on a newer machine, but the minimum specs are a P4 with a GB of ram.

I've got it. It's actually pretty awful

I have read some bad reviews and some good reviews. The main bad reviews are mainly focused about it not having "Free Roam" which had been promised by the developers. So any more info on why it sucks would be good to know.

Once you buy it on Steam, it should show up in your Games pane. I guess they send a receipt or something via email, but I've never needed an email to play anything I bought.

Bought it last night, but still Downloading I'll let yall know tonight. There is no steam email except a reciept, it should DL'd straight to your computer and be available in your steam "library"
