I said it after draft day......but the panthers are THE sleeper team this year. Everybody is healthy...they got a LOT of key players and are looking GOOD against the redskins tonight on dress rehearsal night. (meaning all the starters are playing until the 4th quarter)

J Stewart and Williams are looking awesome, and so is the defense and Jake.

I am excited.

The Panthers look good. I went to the Indy game and the 1st team looked good. Tonight they put it to the Redskins. I think now with the fact they have Dwayne Jarret understanding the playbook and Moose back, that will open up the passing game and with Stewart and WIlliams in the back field it should help the run game tremendously.

I was at the game last night and let me tell you the running game looks scary good!

They finally brought in some big guys to beef up the OL. I think that is going to help them a lot. I was worried about the pass rush being weak with Jenkins and Rucker gone but it looked good last night. Peppers owned Chris Samuels on that play where he pushed him back in to the quarterback and forced a fumble.

Nice to see Jarret is figuring out how to play in the NFL. We'll see how he pans out over a full season with a real QB. I'm liking the possible 2-headed running attack of Williams and Stewart. It should open up a lot of stuff for Delhomme. I just hope Peppers can truly turn it around and keep up what he's been doing in the preseason. Last night he drove an all-pro tackle (Samuels) into the the QB so hard it forced a fumble that he recovered. That was just sick.

And to think , last year they were considering changing the name to the Possums. Sleep when they are at home and get killed on the road.

It is nice to see him being productive. Last season, he was too dumb to learn the playbook, and just went through the motions. Im glad Moose took him under his wing and helped in the off season. Maybe the DUI sobered him up a little and now hes ready to contribute on the field.

i'm really hoping they do well this year! i saw the tail end of the "game" last night, i mean 47-3? wow. i was hoping the 'skins had their 4th string in for their sake! the cats are definitely looking awesome so far this year. i can't wait to see the regular season!

go panthers !!!!!! im glad its finally football season again.

Delhomme looked pretty good.....Stewart as well...
Maybe this will turn into a special season.....we will see

just so you all know....i stated the Panthers as being a sleeper team this year in the first post of this thread.

great start....hopefully they'll only get better. esp since they didnt have S Smith today.

Yeah, that was a good ending, I had about given up after they didn't call time out second to last play! Only thing better this weekend was attending the Wake game in person :)

I've been called weird before, no problem :) And you used to live in Greensboro and I do live there. His name isn't John is it?

The Panthers played a good game. I felt like the D-Line showed nothing as far as a pass rush. Looked at lot better in the pre-season. Good start, but I wish they would just blow a team out rather than having to win the game in the last few seconds.

^ they were playing the chargers....one of the favorites for the super bowl this year. they werent going to blow them out! just be excited they actually won!

i think theyll actually get some point against a few lesser teams. bears next week will be a test too. they looked good against the Colts last night
