Oil Drop

What do you mean? We havent even seen increase from oil rising yet. Pretty much, if oil stoped dropping in price right now and leveled off, we would probably be paying $6 a gallon in 8 months.
 
you're assuming the price of oil directly affects the oil companies ability to make a profit on fuel. The price of oil only factors about 50-60% of the price of a gallon of gas.

That doesnt even mean the Oil companies are even paying $124.00 a barrel for oil.

Demand for fuel and geographic locations play a key factor in determining gas prices. While around here gas may have not dropped very much, theres places around the country that prices at the pump seemed to have plummeted. Of course those places were much higher before the fall then we were.

In Winston i have paid $3.75 for fuel as early as monday. too my knowledge that was the lowerst price in the nation so you wont see the prices in our state falling as fast as others.

On an update, everything is looking good on the fuel price front. Iran is willing to talk. The war in Iraq seems to be at a close, the market wasnt shaken by the african rebels threatening to blow up the refineries. American demand is down. Chinese demand is delcining. CFTC is taking action in the federal regulators and it seems oil drilling may....may... be opening up in new places. Not to mention the discover of 90 billion barrels in the antartic. Bill Gates has invested in a canadian railroad who moves oil from newly discovered sand oil deposits, so something is definatly happening there (the main deposit is larger than the size of colorado!).
 
i just read on fox news that another 25 cent drop is predicted by labor day.

Exactly. Everybody knows the real reason we're there is the eminent threat cause by the weapons of mass destruction and their ties to 9/11. Heck, Condi Rice explained that there would be a mushroom cloud if we didn't act soon. What more do people want?

My point, why on earth do you think a military operation would disclose wartime findings?

I'm not suggesting that Saddam had nuclear war heads, but IF he did the US military damn sure wouldnt disclose it because of the mass hysteria it would have caused.

Gas can be purchased in Asheboro, NC for $3.59/gallon as early as last week.

The clerk at a local Mocksville gas station was COMPLAINING about having to go outside, 3 times today, to change the gas prices on the sign.
I nearly jumped over the counter and choked this guy out.:handed:

It's down to 3.73 at the wal-mart station.

I dont claim to know THE REASON...
I will tell you this, look at a 18 month graph and the past 2 weeks represents the sharpest decline at any time during that period. The day that starts said decline an important initiative was in Washington.
 
Gas under $3 would be nice, but the US has proven that they will buy fuel, regardless of price...we just have to have it right now. Unfortunately, government hasn't made the link that the stagnant economy is tied directly to the gas/oil prices...
 
rumor mill says $3.49 in lenor? any one verify this?

Oil is down to $119, we need it to get below $100.00

its still dropping.
