Oil Drop

So wheres the coverage of the price tumble? How come when there is a quarter of a dollar increase, you get hourly updates, but when the price falls $20.00 i gotta dig to find anything on it!

I DON'T SEE THE GAS PRICES TUMBLING LIKE THE OIL...

In fact...It trickled to $3.77 in Mt. View and has frozen again...

It should be like $3.30 right now...

Anyone see a deep cut in the price at Labor Day to try and salvage a weak Summer travel season and try to spark one last hoorah?

Yeah...me either...

Why do you expect gas stations to lower the price? Do you lower your price anytime your materials cost goes down? They know we'll pay, so why lower it. They are there to make money ( their cost of living has gone up, same as your's), gas staions have not been making a whole lot of profit from gas lately anyway.

Capitalism. Just like in any other industry. The guy down the road lowers his prices to 3.50 and you're still at 3.70...you either lower your prices or sink. For your typical convenience store, the fuel isn't where the money is anyway...just a way to get the customers in.

Plus remember the fuel they are selling today they bought at last week or 2 weeks ago prices...so pump prices will not dorp until new fuel is bought. Conversly when the price goes up they raise price to replacement cost.

This is no different than anyother supply situation.

I was merely pointing out that when oil went up $5 in a day, gas shot up immediately, but when gas has tumbled $35 over a week or so, I would expect the price to drop more than it has...

Just paid $3.45 for Diesel at the sheets in N Raleigh.. 87 was $3.65.. This is the first time I have seen diesel cheaper then gas.

That is phenomenal! Are you sure you weren't taken by a brief bout of dyslexia and it was $4.35? That is just unreal to me. Then again the cheapest I've seen in my town is $4.59:rolleyes:

Cheapest I have seen diesel around here is $4.33.

I really think someone entered the wrong price in. Another station did the same thing several months ago, i guess the gas station attendants around here are not the sharpest.

4.31 in lincolnton for diesel today

If it was the sheets on G-wood it was $4.37 yesterday.

$4.15 at Luv's Truck Stop in Marion.

Crude oil is down $3.45 today. $111.56 per barrel. I think i remember hearing $90.00 was the magic number to get gasoline back down to reasonable. again.

$21 more dollars...hmmmmmmmmm

2 weeks before Labor Day...

I actually believe it is going to happen. THey'll do anything to stimulate travel...and theis was a BAD travel season this summer.

I hope it happens...I've burned the Suburban down to E and I am in a holding pattern on filling it back up. Gas seems to trickle down a few cents every day or 2...

As long as the crap in Russia doesn't get worse...I figure oil will continue to drop...also, ad winter approaches, they have to do something so America doesn't freeze to death...

Fill the burban.
If it drops .20 in the next week and you buy 35 gallons (extremes on both end Id think) thats a $7 los...tough but I think you will survive.

Also Im not so sure on the horrible travel season, despiet the lib medias best attempts eveyone I know is doing quite well...

Who the fuck is this "they" you keep talking abou/ Do you really believe that there is someone actually setting the price to whatever they want regardless of supply and demand?

$4.09 Wilco at exit 133 on I-40 ,..Diesel

Nice! My dad had to borrow my truck the other day, and he called on the way home asked how much Diesel was in Salisbury. I told him cheapest I had seen was 4.49. He got it for 4.14, and was so happy it was cheap, went ahead and filled it up. That was a nice surprise.

EDIT: I hope it keeps on dropping, I am thinking i might have to give up an a couple lesser trips to save for harlan in october, but it would be nice to be able to afford to tow to a couple places in between.
