Oil pressure, then there was none

It's at zero..
That was just a pic of my fab work. Dick. :flipoff2:

My 2000 Sahara did this, until I got an oem sender. Went through 3 parts store units.

It's either going to peg zero or peg full if you short it to ground.

Ground the wire in the oil sender connector with the key on. If memory serves, it should go to max pressure on the gauge.
Assuming it does, you just verified the circuit and the gauge is good.
Needs a (better) sender.

The gauge works for a while, then falls to 0

Understood. But this way you can manipulate the circuit and gauge many times in an effort to help diagnose.
I still suspect a bad sender. Bad out of the box happens from time to time.

After a nice long test drive the verdict is in. We have gauge problems. Now I need to figure out why it's working then not. Updates to follow....

Your fab skills appear to be alright...but I hear your plumbing skills are lacking! :D

FUCK!!!!!!! @ol'Jeeps you fucked me you fucking fuck fucker.

My plumbing skills have failed and created an oil fountain dumping 2qts of oil in the driveway, where the wife's car is supposed to be parked. I think you must have sabotaged it. Why else would it blow out the first time I try to start it after you posted.

My 97 did that once. Pulled the sending unit and cleaned it out with carb cleaner and put it back in and haven't had any problems since. Not that hard to replace though.

Sorry, you cant blame this on me. DJ told on ya yesterday!!:D

You may want to check the connections on the back of the instrument cluster. I think some of them had cluster problems due to them.
