Its a trail truck but good condition
Final asking price is what's listed for

Hi,
Thank you the response,am just asking about it to make sure its in good condition as im buying it for my father, so can you assure me i will not be disappointed? also no shipment involved as i have a mover that will come for it.Im okay with the price and condition , I can only pay you via one of the fastest and secure way to pay online (PayPal)..Do you have a verified paypal account? Let me know asap so i can arrange the payment through PayPal. my shipper will be coming to pick it up as soon as the payment clears into your account. If you don't have paypal account yet, it is very easy to set up, go to www.paypal.com and get it set up.. looking forward to your response.

Okay that sounds good but the truck will be shipped to Alabama and that is where my mover are coming from. This is my number (719) 357-5568. would like you to get back to me with your full Name & PayPal E-mail Address so I can proceed with the payment.

so thats where im at now...

Sounds like a scam. I would move on and wait for another buyer.

If you google the number you will see that it appears on other craigslist scams that people have reported.

im gonna mail him back and see if he will send me certified funds and see where he goes from there.

also googled didnt think about that thanks for the heads up

lol here what i sent

ok i cant do paypal but id be glad to do certified funds. my wife works at my bank and she can run all your information to verifie everything. so after the check comes off hold for the 10 day waiting period and clears ill release the yota to your transport company.

SCAM......stay away. Even certified funds can be fraudulent. If he's serious tell him to wire transfer the funds and you will eat the cost for the wire transfer.

Paypal and shipping is a scam. The buyer usually disputes the charges and gets his $$$ back. Reason he asks for a "verified" account is because its linked to your bank account or credit card, assuring that when he disputes the charges that he will get his $$ back and Paypal will just withdraw it back from your card or bank account (or put a negative balance against your account).

Scam. If he wants it so bad, he can stop by and bring cash in person.

still waiting on a response from him just to see what he comes up with next lol . thanks for all the info i figured it was a scam from the moment he mentioned shipping.

I didn't even read the whole thing and I'm sure it's a scam. I used to work in sales supplying telecommunications equipment, I would blast out list of equipment I was selling and get replies like this. Broken english and "thank you kindly" is always a dead give away.

Still interesting to see what reply you get. Just keep messing with him, it's always fun.

Although there was one incident where I had someone type very good English. We discussed a price and shipping, even spoke on the phone. The payment transaction would not go thru when I ran it. Tried to contact them and the email no longer worked and the phone was no longer in service. This all happened in an hours time. They were hoping I would ship it before the transaction was final.

Gotta be on your toes these days!

A big hint is when their sentences or the whole do not specifically mention what "the item" is by name.
That way they can just copy/paste in the same text in every email.

This.
If they are not interested enough to mention the item or specifically ask questions about it, they are not interested enough for me to deal with (even if a real person).

Sometimes when I get the generic "I'm interested in the item do you still have it" emails, I respond talking about some completely different thing, like say "Yes, I still have the ping pong table for sale" when the ad was for a car seat... just to see if they catch on.
Have never had anybody reply back confused or noting the change.... tada, scammer.

I need to sell my samurai but im avoiding craigslist like the plague.first problem is the scammers.next would be all the tards asking if they can drive it home or will it pass inspection when it is clearly described as not street legal.then the super lowballers hell I mean hit me at half and we can start some negotiations but offer me 500 when Im asking 4k is a little rough.looks to me like a scam also glwts hopefully you can have some fun with this guy

The First clue is in the first sentence from the guy. "kindly get back to me"

True CL buyers don't talk like that. Look at your product and the type person that's going to buy it. "Kindly Get Back to me" is a Proper Queens English phrase.

Second Clue: "I can only pay you via one of the fastest and secure way to pay online " Why is he "selling" on Paypals service. Making it sound Grand and Miraculous.

Third Clue: "My Shipper..." The guy already has a shipper lined up, site unseen. Not knocking your rig, but it's a Toyota Truck trail rig, not a freakin' Porsche/Ferrari, rare or exotic car.

Sounds more like somone is getting paid by Paypal to get people to sign up for their accounts, or maybe a marketing company that advertises on Paypal drumming up accounts to see their ads.

Clayton I have my bike listed on CL right now and have gotten 3 emails (from separate "people") with basically the same response. One asked for my email address in the original email and asked if I still had it. I replied and said that I still had it, and "his" (perhaps "its") reply was "send me your email"...I never replied back and haven't heard anything from them since. screw those spammers man, that's why I hate trying to sell anything through CL! I say steer clear broseph.

Craigslist is awesome. I've bought and sold plenty via CL. It's not that hard to just ignore the scams. A few extra clicks of the mouse to delete an email is a small price to pay for the free sevice

I recently had the same kind of scam done to me except through text messages not email. And also a scam/text saying that " Freddie used some website to sell his car and I should try it too." I replied back that Freddie should go f himself.
