"Old movies" are black and white and most of them are just as good today as they were in the past. Most of the 70s movies were great, then hollywood got weird.

Not many people remember Mr. Majestyk old Charles Bronson film, one of my favorites of his. It was referenced in Pineapple Express and I busted out laughing but no one else ever gets the joke. The first 2-3 Planet of the apes movies are awesome. Mac and Me, for anyone who likes Off brand E.T. with the rest of the family in tow, the movie was a 99 minute Coke commercial but I like it.

I was under the impression the OP meant movies you saw when they came out not just general "Old movies"

I think he was more talking about movies you watched when they were new, be in in the theater or on VHS vs watching them again now and how you view them differently now. Where you saw them wasn't implied, at least from the view I have at my computer, but that's kinda what this whole thing is about, the different ways everyone sees the same things.

Anybody ever watch an old movie that you use to think was the best and now it's hard to even watch all the way through?

The movie "Gremlins" was just on and I couldn't believe how different I remembered it. Don't know whether it's the terrible "special effects" or the corny story line but it just seemed dumb.
Yeah, but Phoebe Cates

Has anyone mentioned Phoebe Cates?

How many cumulative unborn babies were sacrificed over the years to her? Billions, right?

Cat on a Hot Tin Roof still holds up great...but Tennesse Williams was an underappreciated genius.

[Cue 'hose Williams boys they still mean a lot to me....Hank and Tennessee'....will now be stuck in the head for days]

Just Netflixed CaddyShack, it held up well but all I really remembered was the Karl v/s groundhog story line. I did'nt remeber the baby ruth scene and that was great. Definitely forgot the bewbies in it. I think wifey got the blanket over kiddos head in time though...
