We got that hood chicken up here! (In the hood lol)
It's high end hood chicken, but I'm kinda hood myself. Actually more than kinda. Er'body knows that gas station chicken and livers is where it's at. I will lock up the brakes on my Caddy for some gas station chicken, especially if there's bars over the windows. Nam'sayin....

I heard a commercial for Sonny's Barbecue today. As a 19-20 year old, I dated a girl that worked there and her hair always smelled like barbecue! And she wore skin tight brown Sonny's uniforms...

Livers though. We need a thread on good liver places

Darryls was good . there may still be one in G-boro.
But I really do miss Rock-ola ..... best burgers ever!
I liked Burger Chef as a kid ...... the fixin's bar was awesome! Fix it your way.
Sambos too. That the reason I hate waffles now ..... theirs were the best (pancakes too, and huge!) and nobody even comes close.

I still think of Quincy's restaurant from time to time. The local one is now a really good mexican place. I also remember Holly Farms chicken places. The were the bomb back in the day. Shoney's used to be the best place ever when I was a teenager for breakfast!

Quincy's yeast rolls and Shoneys Hot Fudge Cakes. No wonder I'm fat. My parents have been training me for this my whole life

Shoneys breakfast

Last one I ever went to was outside AOP and was shut down WHILE we were eating in it

We finished up and tried to leave. The door was locked. They had to let us out. Once out I took this video of the sign

It never re-opened

Are you circumstanced or uncircumstanced? Maybe it was because of "you people".

I remember checkers (I think those still exists?) and shoney's and quincy's.
There was a Taco place in Greensboro I remember going to although I can't remember the name.
Rockola was awesome. There used to be one right up the road on Market St where I used to go to Pre-K and I can remember my parents picking us up and taking us there for dinner
There was a Henry James off Randlman Rd. (I think?) that was Nascar themed and I remember them having the best Bacon, Egg, and Cheese biscuit and hashbrowns. They would make a folded egg but would place the slice of cheese in the folded egg and it was SO GOOD!

Close to that area was a restaurant called BR549

They had the best breakfast I can remember

Steak Out!
Forgot about this one! It was on or off Friendly. We ate here a lot as a kid. They had the best rolls and I remember my parents getting me a dozen for thanksgiving one year.

90's Wendys also hit different. Fries were good, burgers were good. Taco Salad and the Carolina Classic.

I ALWAYS wanted to eat at Howard Johnson's
