wow...Tacoma747 has always seemed like good guy. just goes to show ya...you never know who you can trust!

... interesting... I've always had good dealings w/ Michael. Hopefully this is a case of "yung and stupid and WTF were you thinking" and can be resolved calmly.
Esp since he's been online and inevitably sees what's coming...

Ditto...Ive only met/dealt with michael one time but seemed like a straight up dude

Never met him, so my opinion is completely unbiased...

Cops, NOW! Thats BS. No one on this forum, at least a regular, would dare do anything like this...so IMO hes not worthy of the comments "Oh hes a nice guy" "This doesnt seem like him"

Screw that, he stole from your garage, the man cave. Call the cops, kick him off the forum.

cant really see Michael going into your garage and scooping up something like that.

but stealing is stealing and from the story you have said.......He STOLE the part. Hope this gets worked out.

Well, thats whats perplexing everyone. the guy sort of IS a regular. infact, i think he is a vendor....unbreakable fabrication, or something liket that.

Michael is about straight up as they come........but whoever snagged the knuckle out of your garage is in the wrong.

dude I don't have your knuckle, and 2 guys at advance told me you had picked up the battery a couple hours before I showed up (one of them said "the guy with the red 350Z", how much more exact could you get?

Still haven't got a call from you about getting me the battery although I've called you a few times. And if you were in the so called shower, and your GF can answer Elliott's calls, why can't she answer the doorbell or your phone when I called you? Looks like I'm out a battery which was supposed to be incuded with the jeep for $60. Yea, it was a cheap price, but a deal's a deal.

Just give me a call when you have the battery so I can pick it up, unless of course you have already sold it.

Oh yea, your water bill must be expensive from those 20 minute showers you seem to take...

First thing that needs to be done that seems to have been overlooked is to kick Elliott in the nuts and tell him to handle his own sales.

Other than that, you need to CONFIRM what happened to your Knuckle, and you better be certain about it. I had that thought about page 2 of this thread.

My GF dosn't answer my phone or the door at my house - b/c it's not her house or phone - but that's also b/c it could be my wife on the other end!!
:huggy:

I don't see what's wrong w/ 20 minute showers I enjoy them every day. Maybe Richard has some serious funk to deal with...!

Someone is seriously full of :poop: itt. If no one saw the knuckle go out that door you are gonna be hard pressed to do anything with the police. However if hes given the money for the battery then its his and he needs to get it. Either way this doesn't seem like something that needs to get aired on the boards until you 2 or 3 of you talk about it whether it be in person or on the phone.

You aren't even supposed to tell the g/f where you live........

sorry, saw this script on The Young and the Restless last week...

Wait till you see who is really sleeping w/his GF!

Here's the story.

I sold my jeep with motor, trans, body, axleshafts, optima red top, intact catalytic converters, and several other parts for a very minimal amount of money. $60 to be exact. He came over and loaded it up under the pretense that the battery was at Advance being charged (I haven't driven the jeep in a month or so). The buyer drives to Advance to pick up the battery and the parts monkey tells him it is not there and that Richard picked it up already.

Something seems shady at this point as we would not send someone 2 miles down the road knowing that a battery would not be there.

Anyway, buyer calls me (I am at work at this point) tells me of the problem and we both try to call Richard. 5 or 10 minutes elapse and I get another call from the buyer telling me that he went by the house and knocked on the door for a couple of minutes. Then he proceeded to open a closed garage door, knock on the living room door without a response. Then informs me that he is taking a "D44 knuckle that I know I can get at least $150 for" to hold hostage until he gets the battery.

I get a call from Richard maybe 7-10 minutes later returning my call and I inform him of these transpired events. When I get home from work he is followed shortly behind me with my battery from Advance as it was not on the charger anymore it had been placed on the shelf behind it. Clearly, not picked up yet.

Honestly, I can see how Michael would feel like he was getting ran around in regards to the battery, but it was a misunderstanding mitigated by the ignorant Advance clerk and faulty communication pathways. It is my opinion, however, that he had no right to take what was not his whilst not allowing at least a 30 minute resolution period. Extreme measures were taken on his part for a not so extreme problem.

So Brent, once Richard's parts were the ones that got taken without his consent, is when it went out of my hands. I would like to have this resolved between both parties.

a.) Buyer informed me first hand that he took the knuckle.

b.) The small amount of $ that was given for the entire jeep package including an Optima redtop. If I were to distribute this money evenly through the entire deal of parts that he got, the Optima would hold a value of 85 cents or so.

Sorry didn't know the buyer told you he took it. Thats pretty much bs on his part and honestly a nut chop should be delivered. ATP I would prob contact the police then. Thats a slew of charges and wrongdoing.

Damn, that's not right to take stuff out of another man's garage.

Funny thing is I saw the guy towing the jeep sunday in k-ville around 6:00 or so.

If I wasn't driving the beamer saturday I would have taken the heep home with me! LOL

this is almost as lame as somebody getting something for free and then complaining about it

actually worse because something was stolen.

I guess that's the worse part. While, I know he is entitled to the battery because it was included with the "sale" of the vehicle, he got a LOAD of stuff for next to nothing. Allow me to demonstrate.

Motor/trans : $400 value
shafts: $50 value
catalytic converter: $40 value
random fluids, tools, etc: $50 value
Body: $200 value at scrap yard or much more if he wanted to sell them individually to people
DT long travel shocks: $40 value
Other misc parts: $100 value

Either way he is going to come out ahead. But in all fairness, if he thought the battery was included with the jeep he should get it. It is unfortunate this had turned into such a mess over something as trivial as a battery.

well you and richard sure have handled it better than i. i applaud that.
in all fairness though....he needs to be writing you guys a thank you card and baking you all a cake. he just got HUNDREDS of dollars of parts/metal for nothing. he can buy a brand new battery with all that cash you all basically gave him.

PS my girlfriend doesnt answer my door or answer my phone either.

now i feel like an asshat for not being able to tow the jeep away the first time around. this crap would not have happened. and i know richard is very pissed about the situation
