Opinions on Wrangler value

And when back in the day there were shops that tacked two bodies together and sold it as good and it fell apart on the road...
Back in the day? Shady chop shops still exist.

I don't really understand why a salvage title scares people, for me, as long as the vehicle is straight (frame) and in good mechanical order I don't mind what the title says. Is there a reason people are worried about salvage titles??
Unfortunately not all shops or shadetree mechanics do good quality work or make good judgment calls on what is "still perfectly fine". Salvage title is put on there as a warning that it's *possible* that the vehicle still has some major problem, wasn't really fix properly, bent frame, twisted body, who knows. Sometimes it really is an issue, often it's not. But your average Joe doesn't know enough about vehicles, nor should they necessarily be expected to, to be able to spot when something is wrong. So it is just there as a warning.
People are scared of it b/c of 2 reasons, 1, they don't know if there is some kind of hidden issue remaining, and 2, resale, b/c they know the next guy will be dubious.

Body work and repair rates have gotten so high, and vehicles are now mostly designed to crumple, resulting in more to repair, so that the overall cost of repairs to any reasonable size damage will push the limit of being salvaged.
