Custom cams are where it's at! A few small changes can make a big difference in power where you want it with your setup, gears, and weight. They only cost a few bucks more than an off the shelf cam too. I'd either get one from Martin at Tick or one from Bauer Racing Enginges. I'm running a Bauer cam in my Silverado and I've seen 20+ builds that used his stuff and made some crazy power. I also saw a "sleeper" cam he thought up and it made over 600hp with a stock sounding idle.
