Personnal Property Taxes???

Dog tax that is insane, and taxes on house hold items. I guess they will be taxing us soon on our body parts soon too.

Actually, they do - if you lose one, and get an insurance payout - guess what, that's taxable! LOL "loss of limb tax"

they just got a letter saying they have to inventory the contents of the whole house for property tax. The instructions/starter form go as far as plates, utensils, coffemaker, can opener, linens, etc, etc.

We'll all be there sooner or later. :(

I wonder if they send that same tax letter to the single mom of 7 kids, crack addict, with no job living in Sec 8 housing???

My guess is that only "homeowners" get these types of tax letters :shaking:

A little sensitive about that one, eh?

Yea, sometimes. I can handle being called/spelled alot of things. But I was never fond of that spelling. It looks like a guys version of the name

At one time they were trying to tax you on dog food instead of the dog. but that was a bad idea because think of the guys with the huge guard dog and think of the person with the little toy dog. that was unfair

Actually it's probably only folks that list as owning rental proprty, my assumption is the tax is on all items used "for the rental business"...

Charlotte has a Rain Tax. It works like this....They calculate the square footage of the hard surface area of your property ( roof, pavement ) and charge you for the inches of rain that run off of that surface area.

And that doesn't even factor in the mandatory water restrictions due to the drought. Then when revenue went down(because of forced less usage), the cost per gallon was increased to make up the difference then the restrictions were lessened but the price never changed

So if you put a thatch roof on top, could you get out of the tax???
"Really, sir, there's no No hard surface on top of my house."
