Here's my story. My bathroom sink hot water can get down to a dribble at times. I bought a new faucet to replace it but haven't done it yet. At times I can run the bath tub hot water at full strength and turn it off and then the sink hot water will gain a good bit of pressure and volume. Lately I've noticed the pressure in my shower is lower, especially the hot water. I know that the shower valve has a compensating feature so if you don't get scalded if someone flushes a toilet. I don't think any other faucet or valve in the house has that feature. I'm starting to wonder if the bathroom sink faucet may have that feature. I don't know if the water heater has a bladder for pressure and I don't know what to do with it if it does. It's electric if that matters. My bathroom sink has two handles. I've not found any leaks and my water bill is about the same as usual. I have not drained and flushed the water heater in years.
So could this be water heater related or am I missing something?

Pull the hot supply off the faucet (after turning the stop off) and put it in a bucket...does it have full flow? If so you've got some sediment in your valve... pull it apart and clean it out. Definitely not uncommon for water heater scale to end up in there. If not then you've got a restriction somewhere else. How old/shitty looking is your water heater? Are you on a well?

City water and heater is only a few years old, maybe 8 years. I'll check the lines, I should have already done that. I've had a very eventful last couple of years. Thanks

If it's JUST hot water, then what Braxton said.

You've got sediment somewhere. Be it trash or scale. Check your elements in the water heater and ditch any screens in faucets.

Also check your washing machine. Pull the hoses on the back and pull those screens in the supply for trash

If I’m reading OP right the HW pressure issue is only at the one faucet.
If so then Braxton answered it. Or just replace that faucet/fixture cause odds are whatever is jammed in there is also going to nick the stem ring and cause a drip whenever you get it cleaned out
