Make sure you don’t have a beaver and otter problem. Hahahahaha. Mine had been left alone for years. It’s about 3/4 mile off the road in the woods. I’ve trapped about 6 beavers and 5 otters out of it.

If it’s older then you are likely just fine. But with something like that, it’s worthy to do some research to know the liability you are taking on. NCDEQ Dam Safety group can be real strict on regulations.

Back in 1977 my great Grandmother, great Aunt & Uncle and a cousin were killed on their property by a failed dam up the mountain from them here in Newfound NC. Regulations got a little stiffer after that happened I’d say around here.
