I've got a gallon of POR15 that I bought for another project that never worked out.
I recently bought this trailer to tow behind my tractor and CJ hauling wood and gravel. I'd like to POR15 the thing so it won't rust out. The steel is solid and I'd like to keep it that way. Anyone got the do's and don'ts of POR15 application? Its supposed to be paintable so i'll probably just rattle can it after application.

1. dont get it on your skin
2. dont get it on your skin

i think that about covers it. mix it really well, and either use it all or put some of it into smaller sealed containers before you start. wear gloves and crappy clothes

and dont get any on your skin

nice trailer btw. i need one.

yes, dont get it on your skin. I painted my buggy chassis with that stuff and got it all over my hands, no chemical cleaner would get it off - i ended up having to use sandpaper and scraping it off my hands.

And another thing, if you get por-15 get the uv additive. por-15 fades in the sunlight pretty quickly. On the plus it does leave a nice protective coating.

It's not worth the time or money.

POR-15 is a nice product, but it's only going to hold up if you put some kind of bed liner product over it. The first load of gravel you put in the bed, all that time and money goes down the drain.

Sandblast it an put a good coat of primer an paint on it, By the way as good as that trl. looks please dont abuse it, they are not found in that good of shape easily, And it would be a shame to destroy it.

Ken,

What kind of wheels did you use on that trailer? Will those MTR's fit on the stock Military rims? I'd like to replace the current tires with the 31"x10.5x15
AT's that I've got in the shed just taking up space. thanks.
