POS MAYBE?

Im with bigred that pic has to be with the shaft out in the front or it wouldnt leave the driveway.

Thanks again.I'm on watershed rd off enola. It would be great to get one of you guys to take a look at it sometime. The guys at fleetpride are just going to re-tube it.So the shaft will be the same thickness.I'd like to get some work done on it to prevent this problem again. The two leaf springs on the drivers side are flatter than the two on the other side.I'm gonna need some of them.It has skyjacker shocks installed in front with a stabilizer. There are two more shocks for the rear sitting on the backseat.I'd like to figure out the shaft and pinion angle along with the weak leaf spring before installing them though.

well, the weak springs could be affecting the pinion angle.

Also, they make 2,4,and 6 degree shims, wedges that go bewteen the axle and the leaf spring to change the angle of the pinion....do you have any of those installled? U should look into that first, and remove or reverse, or install if there isnt any there. thats how you adjust pinion angle (without cutting off and moving the spring perches).

Olivers drive shaft in Winston Salem does great work, and i think you will find many on this board will agree.

Rear pinion is way too severe for that setup, IMO. Could be caused by the bad springs but, to me, it looks like the PO did a poor job with the SOA. If you decide to go the shim route instead of rewelding the perches, let me know. I have a set of 6* shims sitting on my shelf.

I don't have any shims installed.I noticed that in the front...the previous owner added an inch thick shim on drivers side to compensate for the weak drivers side leaf spring. Thanks for the help this site is great. Thanks also to Benji and Adam for tellin me about it.

Just to vent a bit...I can't stand know it alls.My neighbor who everyone told me was the biggest SOB in burke county, came by a week or two ago to tell me that my scout was the biggest POS made.He claimed that It would'nt even climb a little hill without falling apart. He said all it was for was looking at and trailering everywhere. He then just laughed and said one day you'll learn. Now that I twisted the shaft he could'nt resist coming over and repeating everthing again along with a I told you so...and it's only worthy quality is the tires.I wish he was'nt 73.This fella lives to tell everyone how smart he is.He even trys to tell me how to cut my yard and how I should stack firewood.I think for christmas I'm gonna get him a t-shirt that says "I've forgotten more than you'll ever know" or just "Know it all".Ok,I'm better now.Any other good ideas out there? Thanks

OK,I installed the new Drive shaft.I'm wondering who to take it to in the Morganton area so the pinion angle can be adjusted and the general set-up can be judged? Thanks for any help in advance.
