Looked through the Forums only found a Woodworking project thread but Im curious as to what else you guys work on here?
Off-roading is my primary interest but Im also dabbling now with a street truck build.

I really love the GMT400 platform (88-98) (99 classic) body style GM trucks and SUVs

I bought this a couple years ago after my last deployment when I was still in the service .
1992 GMC Yukon 4x4 2 door. they are pretty rare so to say and as much as one would benefit as a offroad rig because of the shorter wheel base I wanted to keep it clean. I bought it for 1100 bucks up in Jersey and it was the first truck I "restored" I have about 4800 in it currently including the purchase price the way it sits is when I used it as a Daily driver its been a great truck.

Only mods I've done so far is
flowmasters, 2 inch Drop , 2018 GMC wheels, paint and window tint.

Plans for it is to re work the body in two places drop in a 6.0 vortec drive train to make it AWD and maybe some forced induction . Id like this old brick to hurt some feelings . currently has a Old 5.7 TBI in it that makes good torque for its size but can't pass its own exhaust fumes at times. but it looks cool .

So lets see it what else are you guys working on?

1970 C10 that’s been in my family since 1982. I came home from the hospital in it when I was born. It’s torn apart right now getting all new suspension with a 4 link in the back and coil overs all around. Warmed up sbc for now with a T101 dog box behind it, floater 9” rear, and a bunch of other restomod type stuff.

Past project from the late 90s..but still a favorite

that thing turned out great. question always wondered with those pre 60's cars where do you source something like a dash?

Plans on color ? or are you staying with the Patina ?

It is easier to get a new dash for 65 chevy than a 2020 chevy...

98 TA with a 402 LS2 stroker, T56 swapped, literally everything upgraded.
92 Firebird 355 swapped, working on installing FITech now, recently bought back after selling 10+ years ago.
60 Catalina 462 Pontiac and swapped to a 4spd. Probably will sell soon as I want another 2nd gen TA.

It’s most likely gonna end up a flat faded yellow. I knocked the front end off of it when I was about 17 so it doesn’t match anymore. A lot of the different coloring down the sides is what happens when you pressure wash old sun baked paint so it looks pretty rough. So body work and favorite yellow t shirt that’s been washed a half million times for the new paint.

Friend had one of these, we swapped a 6lug SF 14bolt and modified the front to take the larger front diff and kept 4wd. Long tubes and 3" duels, decent amount of engine work and custom tune. Did pretty good and stayed together during 4wd launches.

72 Super Beetle Marathon edition Rat Rod. Work in P:rogress. (I've been saying that for years). Hoping to fire up soon. Need to find some aircooled VW guys in Lexington NC to give me a hand.

Not in Lexington, but Guy Roberts is a VW Guru in Newton NC on Hwy 16. He has a garage and is very knowledgeable and honest

this maybe true but that's because they are still so new. finding a replacement dash that's not cracked all to shit for my 1992 is been tough
