Newbie question(s) here? I plan on heading up Friday, what time are people getting there? Anything in particular I should know or bring for the camping/grilling/etc? I assume everyone's staying at the Pines Campground.

Thanks and look forward to meeting everyone.

A few are going Thursday. Not at the Pines! The Country,LLC , 17267 Johns Creek Rd., New Castle, VA. 24127. Check out the Newsletter, or the other "Whos Going" CTB thread.

Glad I checked! It's my first ride and I haven't officially joined yet. Can someone pm me any other details?

I should be getting in between 3 and 4pm on Friday if all goes well.

Heading out shortly after 12:00. Some moron at work scheduled an 11:30 meeting. It should be a rule not to schedule meetings on Friday's.

Great pictures! Is this an area where you can bypass the harder stuff or just only take trails that are friendly to mild vehs?

You can mostly bypass all the harder stuff. The bowl area is actually the main trail so you would have to do that part. Its not bad. The stacks has a bypass but i've never put eyes on it.

We had two open open XJ's on 33's make both by the way.

Cool and thanks. I just don’t want body damage but am not afraid to winch if need be. I am looking for a used set of beater tires to put on another set of wheels and after I will start going to more places.

A stock TJ on 33 AT's can do all of Potts trail (as long as you have a winch JIC...which you do). The bowl will present a decent challenge if it's wet....but good spotter and you won't have issue.

Here's video (2x speed to help you ADD folks) of various segments

Note the weather change as well as trail conditions. It's neat how you go thru so many stages on such a short trail

Dang. I think that's the wettest I've ever seen it.
Same

There wasn't a dry section. And as you can see in the video....ERRRTHANG is green and overgrown
