project ball joint 95.5 taco sas with onetons

This belongs to brad4046 on the board, after wheeling a couple of jeeps he decided he wanted to build a yota.
This is a 95 truck with 3400 v6, and auto trans. We are doing a sas front with a ford hp60, and a 14bolt rear. The axles recieved 513 gears and i think spartan lockers. Im 100 percent on the brand of locker, but they were purchased from ecgs. Solid diff covers, and rear disks, along with a mild trim of the 14bolt round out the diffs.
The front sas kit we will be using is a fror, along with there steering box mount. Will be using rancho 440044 springs front, and 63 chevies in the rear. A new set of allied 17x9 beadlocks with some 40" TSLs will take care of the grip.
Gonna go atlas for the tcase. It is on order hopefully see it in the next few days.
Gonna go ifs box ported for hydro assist, and we will be contacting dave at olivers for psc ram, and some dshaft help.
And when you see the pics you will see why im calling this project ball joint. A broken ball joint started this build!! haha

thats me...the short guy....shootin a lil bit of shiny stuff on the d60 front.
Ill get more pics up by the weekend. I spent the past two days cuttin the ifs junk out of this rig, so hopefully by the weekend ill have the front axle hangin in there.

got a ton done this week on the rig. Started monday cutting the ifs junk out and got it on the axle tonight.

body lift has gotta go, and the pinion is pointin down.

Got the rear axle in last night. Truck is sitting on all 4s for now. Brad ordered the frenched shackle hangers fromskys off road for the front. That should help lower it and get the pinion angle where it needs to be. With the 3 inch body lift still in it tje top of the cab is at 6 foot 9 inches and the lowest part of the trans xmember is at 26 inches. Hopefully with bl gone and the shackles frenched we can get this thing a lil closer to where it needs to be. More pics are coming!

nice build mabey one day ill have mine done!

thanks, hopefully this one will be on the trail by august. We have a trip planned for harlan and hopefully this rig will be going!

more pics will be coming. We have the front axle finally where it needs to be. Used the skys offroad frenched shackle kit, looks much better now. Also got the rear frame lopped off behind the shackles and a new crossmember built with a reciever tube in the center.

Question for you guys though. What would you do for rear drive shaft? Installing an atlas2 with 1350 output in the rear, would you run a one piece rear shaft or adapt the toyota 2 piece drive shaft with carrier to the case and rear axle?

on my ex cab i got rid of the two piece shaft and never looked back. of course the two piece will give you better angles but its def easier to me to build a one piece

I agree with the ease of a 1 piece but ive been kinda worried about it draggin on everything. I guess it would need to be a heavy wall shaft.

the boss showed up and made us get to work!
