thats a kick ass tranny tunnel

looks good. thats ALOT of TIG'n.
is that a crate 302 or just cleaned up really well? looks real nice

Yea tell me about it, took me about 6 hours split between 2 days to do it. I made the floor so it can be removed in 3 sections to open up the whole floor in case I need to pull the tranny or work on it. The motor is just cleaned up and rebuilt, nice and reliable. Thanx for the compliments, hope to get some more work done tomarrow.

Couple quick ones from tonights progress. Got the hood cut and fenders cut and stretched. What ya think????479901222_1681727482_0.jpg

That grill looks bad-a$$.

I hate to see such a 'square' rear on this though. That B-pillar has at least 6 bends on a few different planes, but the most noticeable members that wrap up the 'bumper' of the truggy are just squared up with no bends. Not knocking your style, I just think a bend in those 2 (3) pieces (making the whole 'bed-cap' look as though it was bent from 1 piece of tube) woulda made that look way more finished.

Keep up the good work, and that tranny tunnel looks total BA!

dang man that front end looks awesome....i cant wait to get home and start tearin into my truck...

I am sure he's not done on the rear tubes yet though.

Nope not done with the rear yet. Just have some tubes in place to see where I want to go with it, I will probly stay with that basic design (b/c I like it and, hey the 2nd gen. yotas were pretty square), but I am going to add some tube to get a bed type place in back to put tools, and the radiator, and propane tanks. I may work on the rear this weekend.

Yea I know I just didnt want a big gap at the top of the cab, but there is another hoop on the inside of the cab so no real streigth issue. I'll be adding more bracing too.

That was most-definitely not a complaint, I likes it!! Looks plenty strong the way it's braced too

Made a little progress, anyone forsee a problem with how tight the winch is with the motor, water pump pulley is only 1/2in inside back of winch. Probly find a winch with xternal solenoids.1.jpg

Thats what I was thinking, I am also looking into a serpentine belt setup on an EFI 5.0 to see if the water pump is shorter.

If you get in a situation where you are in a bind and hopping under heavythrottle, your enginge could easily move forward 1/2 of an inch due to chassis flex, and motion in the bushings, even if it is pretty rigid. This is just my opinion, but you may wanna take it into consideration. My last truggy, The Mangler, had the drivetrain pretty solid mounted, and it had no problem pulling itself forward under a heavy load, enough to sheer of the front two shift plate bolts because they hit the tranny tunnel.
