Project DD #2

Looks good! To add to the legal thing, I am certified to do state inspections, and the other week we had a surprise visit from the DMV officers at work. After he did his thing I stopped him and asked about this similar dilemma. I have thought about doing a 5.9 swap in my 97 but didn't know how to get a V8 computer to work with having to plug in with the inspection. Anyways he answered my question with a good answer but then followed up with, "but it has to be same year or newer engine, have all emissions applications installed and working properly, and be from the same manufacturer." Apparently he was mistaken according to what up-n-over has posted. I'm sure if you have 2 computers, V8 computer doing the work then telling the TJ computer everything is okay. I don't see why it wouldn't work. But If I did it, I planned to run on one computer, so there is a little difference.

This is a good swap. My pops just finished up this swap in his 95 YJ. Now my brother is doing this swap in his 99 TJ. You may be able to use the factory Jeep tach. The GM LS motors use 4 cylinder mode on tachs and shift lights I believe. Keep the updates coming.

i really like the way you were able to mount the shifter in the factory console. looks clean.

looks good so far. im finishing up the same build, but i went with a 5-speed and the painless wiring harness (#60217).

keep us updated...
