Project "Nothin Fancy YJ" (Updated! October 16th)

One of my best friends just got back from Oregon, working at a YoungLife camp for nearly 2 years, so we just had to pick up where we left off, and get back to working on the Jeep. He wants a good cage, but in order to not break the bank, some of the stock roll cage was retained. Blue tape means bars will go there :) Soon to follow are a spring-over, S/R, and possibly 37" MT/R's, or 36" IROKs, Comp Cut, RockRails, and tube fenders. Here are some pics. More to follow as we finish.

Nothing is more fun than working on the jeeps with your buds...

Some more progress on project "Nothing Fancy". Here are the rails that we made tonight. Just some 2x2 .250 wall turned on edge and a little support. Also got a chance to try out the new paint gun. Should be pretty stout. See what yall think....

Guess I'd better get to work. I pray that you have a Jesus filled day brother.

Glad you like 'em!! Can't wait till you get a chance to come down again so we can mount the seats and finish the cage :)

the tilted square rocker skids are interesting Sam... Dont know if you did it for looks...or to have less surface area sliding on the rock...but it will be interesting to see if it works... Looks Good.

Fine work gentlemen...fine work indeed.

Ready to fab up a four link on my Suburban?

LOL

Take care!
Doc

i think that's a great way to make sliders. i wish i had angled mine up like that. i'd say ~90% of the time that's where sliders get their use, hitting rocks at a ~45 degree angle. you don't see many flat rocks.

Wow....

those look familiar don't they, look kinda like the ones on the side of my 4runner, wow where ever did you come up with that idea? i guess to be copied is the best sign of flattery. haha, i like mine, but i wish i had used quarter wall so mine wouldn't have dents but oh well just adds character.

Finally - Some updated pics on Project Nothin Fancy

Well, it's been a while, but we finally had a weekend to get some more work done on 'ole "Nothin Fancy" YJ. Progress included finishing the cage, including frame tie-ins, cutting the fenders, and mounting the freebee seats. Cage still needs to get a final paint job, and spring over is in the works...Just need another open Saturday. On to the progress pics...
