Last one... Should leave plenty of room for a set of 37's, or 36" IROCs after the SOA. Anyone have a set they want to trade for a new ARB for a 31spline 8.8? Or sell to a guy about to have a baby in a week? (Not Me!! My buddy!)
My only comment is that there is no diagonals left to right, or vice-versa. But that is coming someone that likes to over triangulate. For the weekend warrior, that will work great. I know its better than what he had the first time he rolled it....Did you tie it into the frame....or just the body mounts?? Just curious.
Seth, we tied it into the frame and we talked about the Diagonal X or just a / and we might still do it but brandon didnt want to make it hard to access the rear seat with a kid coming along and all. We will see what happens after he rolls it a few times.
Patrick, thanks for the props man. You should have brought out your buggy at DPG the other weekend. I wana see that thing in person.
Spent about half a day or so on the front SOA and got the essentials done. Still needs some steering and some shock mounts and tires but it is driveable. The rear will hopefully be done tommaro if time allows.
And did i mention he needs tires?! Anyone have some 36's or 37's they want to sell cheap?
Little more progress....decided to do the cherokee leafs in the back and comp cut and move the gas tank to the back. Added some LED's and made the hangers on the back. Bumper with hangers is welded and bolted on. Sits a bit high in the back but this is unloaded with almost no gas in the tanks and when one person stands on the back it levels out. Still need to finish the drive shaft, strap tank down, build a traction bar, extend brakelines, get steering on the front, and a few other small things.
STILL NEED SOME 36's or 37's! (IROK's would be nice)
Wheelbase sits at 100" to 101" right now. Another good afternoon of work, and we can build the rear driveshaft, build a traction bar, finish plumbing brake lines, and finish up a few more details...
A little done tonight. Ended up cutting down an extra shaft a buddy had for the rear. Should work out pretty nice. Got a few pics of the tank in the back also since someone asked about it. Not mounted in place yet but the hoses are run and wires connected.
Hey Sam, the cage looks good. I might need your expert advice on mine when I build it. I don't know if you remember me or not but I wheeled with you guys at Callalente one time. I had the Blue TJ but I think I had just gotten the orange Rubi unlimited the last time I saw you at the shop in Boone. Anyway, I finally got it put together and was wondering when you guys would be up wheeling again. I'm gonna try to get up with those Boone guys again and ride somewhere. I've been wheeling damn near every weekend but I'm getting tired of being the only jeep in the group with body panels. Let me know if you guys are going anywhere soon. Take it easy, Russ
