Project Sloan 93 yj

Put in an upgraded 3rd kit to prevent popping out of gear, replaced reverse and 1st gear due to rust pitted teeth, but was surprised to find brand new syncros and bushings. Still replacing bearings, but I’ll save my kit for the spare trans I’m building.

Bucket of mineral spirits for cleaning works pretty good

Ha, no spares needed for a 465 they be tanks.

Shorter throw, 4 inches rearward, improved shift rails supposed to be smoother. I finally found one that wasn’t 500 after shipping

Uses a different stick too that has a one piece bottom so there’s no tack welds to fail and get sloppy. I found a new stick unbent for $60

Installing the trans, about 1/2 inch from home I’m meeting pressure plate resistance or pilot bearing not aligned. It’s a hydraulic clutch and the bellhousing is not attached, so I don’t see any way to depress the clutch.

Is my option to run up the bolts and pray I don’t break a tab off, or is there a trick I’m missing?

I do mine but leaving the pressure plate loose, seat the trans the slide it back and toque the plate.

finally warm enough to get back under the jeep. Found I had enough play to rotate the ear under the trans rib if I clearances the slave cylinder. Clutching awesome!

What bellhousing is that? Factory hydro?
QuickDraw brand, uses stock yj/tj/ram/xj/durango hydraulics fork and throw out, 99-01 Camaro or 4.8l truck clutch and flywheel, works with sm420, 465, t5, tkx, nv3500, nv4500, tr4050 and probably others depending on the hardware you get. It’s a super nice casting too.

Only issue I’ve had is the need to thin out the webbing on the slave cylinder to clear

The great rewire of 2026 trying to get back on the road by my birthday on the 22nd. Had a great initial startup experience with terminator, but I’m no tuner and they require fiddling to get right or a lot of tuner hours. Went with a BP auto kit that comes complete with harness and security/ emissions deleted ecu programmed with a startup tune. Really high quality well labeled and 100% tested in house. Just waiting on some extensions for 02 sensor and to wire up the fuel pump. I’m using a 6 fuse and old school truck turn signal with 3 switches and 2 push buttons for the lights horn and wipers, making it as simple as possible with a trailer wiring kit for the back and a 4 color in a jacket for the headlights. The standalone only needs switched 12v, 2 grounds on the head, and a terminal on the starter for power, has the fuel pump relay integrated so that hooks up directly to the wire
