Purple Z car in Raleigh?

Anyone in Raleigh familiar with a metallic purple Nissan Z car?

240 260 and 280's were all Datsuns up to around 1979 when their badging was changed and read "Datsun by Nissan" until 1984 when Datsun was dropped and they were just Nissans.
She said a purple "Nissan" Zcar causing me to deduce that it must at least be a 1984 300zx or later generation. You're not old, you just know what a real Zcar is.
